Raja Ampat Dive Lodge

We had a great experience at Raja Ampat Dive Lodge. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Everyone spoke English quite well which was helpful. The resort is beautiful – great combination of rustic but still with nice amenities. Rooms were nice enough but very much on the simpler side.

As for the diving, we had a great time. Local dive crews knew the sites well, equipment was all well taken care of and we felt very safe the whole time. The dive sites varied but were generally really good – lots of marine life so a great spot if you love mantas, turtles, rays, sharks, etc.

The resort was excellent. Service good, rooms small but good size and very clean, good bathrooms, AC, porch, view all of it. The meals are good, and the dive operation very good. People are friendly and efficient. There is one thing I want to say that is positive, and one not so. Positive: They have a masseuse who is out of this world. She treated my back so well I came back two times - rates are reasonable, studio is out near the water; this is a totally legit massage, no worries about being offered "happy ending" My only warning is that internet connectivity periodic, and when it is there, it is very slow. "What's App" and FB messenger are the two preferred method of communication in the islands (what's app the far preferred method) , so sign up and use that as much as you can. If you have pressing work back home to do, either (a) don't bring it, or (b) bring your own capability with you (hotspot linked with the telecon system) Its not the fault of the resort - its just the "end of the line" for the system that is there. But you should be warned.

The place is amazing. Located central for diving experiences in Raja Ampat. The staff is the most friendly I found. Giving attention to any of guess requests. And finding any solutions to satisfy guess. Special thanks to the cook, I think that he/she enjoys his life at this lodge, because each meal was an experience. Beautiful DREAMY location on Mansur Island. You have a jetty teaming with fish, beautiful corals around it, mangroves, and a beach!! Looked at a lot of pictures and compared many resorts. I requested for an updated bathroom bungalow, but reservationists said to make request on arrival. Upon check in the lady stated not possible, not available, and only for VIP. The room we were given had problems with the hot water. It rained on our transport from Wasai and after one cold shower we wanted a hot shower before bed. They asked if waiting for the next day was ok. I politely said no and asked to change rooms. Yosef at front desk was helpful and quick to solve. Moved rooms and the 2nd room was exactly the updated bath I asked for. Seems to be available unlike the reluctant 1st interaction. On our first dive day the Dive master took some time to find the reef. 15-20 min found the reef, put our gear on and somehow lost sight of it and had to search again. Great dive, no complaints about Raja Ampat diving! He was kind, polite, and attentive. Besides the 2 small hiccups everything else was dreamy. We didn't do the spa services bc it was a little expensive to add on but beautiful setup and such a sweet lady there! Laundry on site too! Attentiveness of the wait staff, housekeeping, and other service staff on point. I have dietary restrictions and kitchen staff was amazing! Toni the manager is truly the best. You see him cleaning up the grounds, cutting dead limbs, playing the guitar for an anniversary couple. Does it all! He's always around, approachable and understands service and hospitality! Planned to stay 5 ended up staying 7! Wish I would've extended more.

Spent 6 days with total 21 dives in here. Great view above or under the water, great diving guides with safety and organized. In a super remote area, with extremly limited wireless connection or beer, but this how they keep environment and ocean clean. Go snorkeling to see the coral they grow in front of the rooms, just awesome. A great place to enjoy turely nature beauty.

nice place, best service and perfect dive spot’s // we stayed there in February 2023 for two weeks. The room was clean and with a terrace in front. The sand beach at the house ist great to go for a swim at high tide. On the food buffet was always something for everybody and very fresh plus tasty. The house reef is good for snorkeling and stretches to the next village. We went everyday with the boot to different beautiful dive spots - the best on this planet. The dive- hotel- spa- service crew are all very friendly. We are coming back - thanks again from Tauchcenter Feldberg :))

Pros:
- Resort is very peaceful, even though it is fully booked today, feels that we r alone and enjoying the tranquility.
- It is set in the very beautiful island with lush forest and mangrove and lots of coconut trees
- Staff are very friendly and helpful

Cons:
- If you look for internet/ wifi, it is not the place to be but it is a guarantee of chill and relaxation

Based on the local conditions

and the control of the details,

everyone will have a friendly smile when they meet,

so that the language barrier will disappear.

The Resort and DG are both very high-quality.

Great resort with balinese atmosphere and fantastic view. The scenery of sunrise is breathtaking when I was enjoying my breakfast. Quite reasonable price and easy to reach as it's not too far from the main island in Raja Ampat (Waigeo). The food is good too, but they usually serve western food.

You could buy a diving package here, the package would consist of diving equipment and a transport to the dive spot.

Amazing place. Located in the middle of the best dive sites of Raja Ampat, amazing service, amazing food. I'd come back in a heart beat. Pickup in sorong airport to resort with luxury speed boat is included in the package. The dive guides r amazing, knowledgeable and throughout our stay we felt totally spoiled in safe hands of the guide. 5 stars for radL !! Just on their jetty theres a big schools of fusiliers and the hunting bluefin trevally. Sharks r sometimes spotted there while snorkeling.. n even one girl in our group spotted a minke whale passing by.

Excellent Service, very friendly staff, food is excellent, bathroom and towels are slightly smelly, but a nice stay nonetheless. Lots of great facilities and the view is breathtaking. You can see many endemic bird species every morning right outside your rooms and the jetty is an excellent snorkeling site. So many fish and sea turtles.

I always go diving with Grand Komodo Liveaboard services, but during this pandemic I stayed in their land-based facility, Raja Ampat Dive Lodge. I love it even better than LOBs! I managed to go to my dream sites. The bedroom is super clean, the faucet, washbasin, shower are new. Meals served 5 star standards. 9 electrical outlets in room. new Daikin air conditioner.

Might be the best resort in Raja Ampat for the facilities.

The beds are comfy, room with aircon, clean fresh water for bath, satisfying meals, CLEAN BLUE SEAWATER, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY SETTING.

just don't expect Internet connectivity here, it's time for your dose of digital detox!

Strategic locations with beautiful setting, enjoyed great snorkeling at housereef. Beyond expectation. Value for money. We love their entire service

Spent two weeks here, and enjoyed every minute. Tony--the relatively new manager--has your stay well organized from the moment you land in Sorong. The staff is well trained and friendly; many have a sharp sense of humor. My personal snorkeling guide (yes, you read that correctly)--Peres--has superman-like vision, and spotted creatures I could not have seen with a prescription dive mask. His excellent work reflects the Lodge's commitment to serve divers AND snorkelers equally.

My cabin was clean and comfortable. Hot water, air conditioning, and bedding were fine. Food varied daily: it was well prepared, usually delicious, and plentiful. Table service outstanding. Massages were first rate and reasonably priced at $28/hour. The beachfront bar was somewhat limited in its offerings, but had enough choice to satisfy most palates.

Perhaps the only "minus" was the internet. It worked well enough, but you had to sign in every hour with "coupons" freely provided by the front desk. I experienced the same system at some hotels in Egypt, and--like some of my fellow travelers--found it a bit of an annoyance. Why not just cover the common area with "always on" routers that anyone can access at any time (without having to sign in every hour)? I don't know the answer to that question.

Still, the internet was good enough, and I would return to this place in a heartbeat. As a snorkeler, the lodge took me to every conceivable snorkeling site-and I saw everything from mantas to tiny nudibranches.

Kudos to Tony and the entire Lodge staff. My experience there was one I will always remember. Thank you for everything you did for me. MK
