Gunung Batu Jonggol

This small mountain is one of the nearest mountains you can climb near Jakarta. The way up to the top is very steep and you need to climb with a rope to help lifting your body up. Best time to hike is at 4 a.m. to get the sunrise view from the peak. The view from the peak is really nice. Please wear proper hiking shoes to hike Gunung Batu. Highly recommended!

Indonesia Matterhorn alike, never thought for climb on it.. It’s sureal journey.. short but extreem, though only resite at 875 mpl the angle trek almost 60*, so yeah.. worth to conquer.. No need to rush to go to the top. Better at least 3 person in a team to Trek..

Easy to reach, the access good can drive with car, there is clean and new cafe close to the mountain, best view also otw back , bike park 2k and just spent 20k gasoline , satisfied

A good spot to have an excersice for our muscles before doing the real hiking. With a steep and slippery slope, and in some parts we have to really do a stone climbing, this peak is rhe best option for practicing hiking and climbing in a real spot. Only take 30-45 minutes to hike to the top without any break time, but needs a good stamina and muscles condition.

You will be amazed when u reach the top. Hardwork. Believe. Calm. Stay focus

Driving from Jakarta by Car about 3 hours, and hiking about 40 minutes, enough for half day adventure.

Pay 2Ok idr for 1 night parking of my motorbike, no any other cost. We are so lucky to come here during weekdays, no one else is here except us. Enjoying so much the climbing, the view at the top, and going to a curug (small waterfall near the area) after that.

Gunung Batu has the easiest path of climbing, recommended for beginners, even without any preparation like us. It only takes us 30 minutes to the top. You can also climb on the night, but don't forget to bring flashlights.

Near the top is very steep, but there is a rope that will help you climb. On the morning, a beautiful scenery is waiting for you at the top. Enjoing so much.. it is very recommended place!

From the center of Bogor City to the climbing gate of Mount Batu Jonggol it only takes about two hours. Since there is no public transportation yet, visitors must use private vehicles.

There are two access routes that can be traversed, first, via Cileungsi-Bogor to Kampung Menger. Second, via Cibinong-Citeureup to Tajur and ending in the Sukamakmur area.

Great place for easy hiking ! Beautiful nature. Not so easy access. Worth a try !
