Grand City Hall Medan

Genuinely impressed with this hotel. Rooms were nice and very comfortable and breakfast buffet was equally so. The selection of food was great and so was the food quality. Everything we had was super flavourful and delicious. Service was also top notch!

Great place for a short staycation. Great pool and gym services. fantastic restaurants serving delicious food.

Stayed in this hotel for the second time and absolutely love our experience staying here. Their service is topnotch as the receptionist was very kind and helpful to assist us with our request for an early check-in. In fact, we got an upgrade for our 2 nights stay.

Our room was very spacious and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Amenities in the room were complete. The housekeeping was helpful when we asked for a newspaper.

The concierge was very attentive to assist us with our luggages. The team was always available to validate our parking tickets. They even allow and help us to keep our frozen food in their freezer. Even the security guards were so helpful when we needed extra pair of hands to unload and load our belongings. Superb!

Breakfast was satisfying as usual.

Pool was clean and well maintained. They also offered jacuzzi and sauna twice daily.

Absolutely loved the Grand City Hall!

Rooms were great, close to a lot of amenities, and don't get me started on the morning breakfast. If you're in the area, definitely stop by.

The hotel is located in the centre of Medan near the train station. There are malls (Deli Park and Center Point), cafe/restaurants and parks within walking distance. Unfortunately Lapangan Merdeka was under construction/renovation during our stay.

We stayed for 13 nights in a serviced apartment (A803). The apartment was spacious, clean, comfortable and had a pool view. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable. They also provided a baby bed and baby chair for our 16 months old daughter. The internet connection (free wifi) is good (~20 MBit) and stable. The breakfast buffet offered a lot of different delicious and healthy food choices everyday and we never got bored.

THE HIGHLIGHT of this hotel is the people who work here (the staff). They provided outstanding service and were all very friendly and helpful. We travel a lot around the world and stayed in a lot of hotels but the staff here is definitely the best so far. We especially want to mention the best of them that made our stay unforgettable (no special order):
Dhea, Laylan, Silvi, Desi, Arifin, Balqis, Ori, Dea, Lisa, Fauziah, Indah, bang Ginting, pak Andri, front desk staff, all the housekeeping staff and all the security staff (also in the basement).

A little downside was the traffic noise that we could hear from our room but it doesn’t matter for us at all because we are used to it.

We will definitely stay here again when visiting Medan. Their hospitality was exceptional. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable.

I stay at the apartment, because the hotel is full.

The hotel does not provide hospitality enough just to provide early takeaway breakfast at checkout. Doesn't bother to ask the kitchen staff.
They just simply say no!

Other things they are friendly enough to exchange my room from smoking room to nonsmoking room.
The bathroom is small enough for Asian.

Location is next to walikota office, and town center. Close to train station and street vendor.

Refurbished old building. Spacious room, old style aircon which either on or off -- no in between.
Great breakfast, good location, esp for biz traveller.

one of the luxurious hotels in Medan. The facilities and services reflect the deserving 5 star. The best part of this hotel is the location, which is right at the city centre, walking distance to almost all important places like malls, banks, train station, food court, nightclubs, etc.

Great ambiance, very nice services, many kinds of small store/shop and also airlines stuff and dental clinic. The restaurant is really in mid range to high range of price. The dimsum in the chinese restaurant is really good and the price is certainly not the cheapest, but the taste is way more than the pricing, cost around 4$ per dimsum (most of them) and it's tasty.
The hotel got a very nice rooms although i didn't take the picture of them, it's still a very nice and large room.

So I stayed both in the apartment and the hotel. the hotel room were pretty good, but the apartment's toilet had see through doors and the showerhead was broken. Also had a burger, probably the best burger I've eaten yet.

My fav hotel so far

We stayed for two nights in a 2-bedroom apartment which was so great for our family. We enjoyed relaxing at the hotel. Breakfast had a good variety of options (nice Indonesian and satisfactory Western).

This was previously the City Hall but it's now run as hotel and cafe. The ambience is great, the foods are good too but it takes long time to be served.

I would like to give 5 stars to this place, because it deserves, the staff are so friendly, and well managed. Despite of all that the location of the place is right in the center of the city which gives you quite flexibility to have access to the touristic attractions of the city. Above of all this the rooms are luxurious and really clean with free breakfast and it has an outdoor swimming pool 😍. Recommended
