Wow! Trip of a lifetime! Absolutely recommend this slice of paradise!

We were blown away by the experience provided by the Wave Park team, especially hosts Christie and Alice. Would give 10 stars if it were possible. Dreamy waves, awesome accommodation, next level food, noble surf guides, can’t wait to get back there.

After reading so many good reviews I had huge expectations. They were not only met but exceeded! Mentawai rhythm of life is embraced on this island. My only warning is one trip will not be enough! So grateful to all from the hosts to the house staff.

Great accommodations & great people on a great wave! Alice and Christie are total pros that put allot back into the resort and their staff - which made for a great trip. Felt safe solo with them. Well maintained boats run by Christie himself…with a focused eye on safety details. Cruisey crew and excellent food.

Probably the best surf hotel i have been, as it combines most of the aspects I judge necessary for a good and relaxed surf Hollidays!

Few bungalows, enough people. No greedy/ business atmosphere.

Still owned and operated by the founder 25 years later and it shows in every detail of the operation. Large fiberglass speed boats vs overloaded, waterlogged dugouts with mismatched motors is just one example. I have been to several resorts in the Mentawai Island over 15 years and will be trusting Christie (not a girl!) and WavePark with my time, money and safety for the remainder of my travels to the region.

The place is magic. I was there on a 10 day outing with my girlfriend. She couldn't say enough great things about the resort - the location, setting, the food, the employees - everything. And I agree with her. It was my 3rd visit to the Wavepark, I have kept going back because of everything mentioned above and the great surf. My wave count was down this year, but I still had a great time. Christie and Alice and the entire crew are dedicated to making sure everyone enjoys their time on the island to the utmost. Well done!

The word "epic" is overused to the point it doesn't do WavePark any justice. Christie and team have the conditions in the Ments so dialed that even on blown out flat days they find you waves you could only dream about back home. The camp has everything you could ask for to be extremely comfortable, without any of the unnecessary frivolities that some other camps like to tout. The food was delicious, rooms are awesome, and I don't need to say any more about the location - just look at the map. So you want a picturesque private island, with only five bungalows on the beach, limited to 12 surfers, by far the best boats of any resort, western trained chefs who deliver on the food and a great left hander off the point and over 40 waves within 30 minutes that are suitable for all levels of surfing? Only WavePark delivered impeccably by Christie & Alice.

This was my sixth sanity restorer to Wavepark resort...This place blows me away every time i visit!!
Being from florida, I never get to surf waves anything near the quality you find here on every trip. When i come here, i actually "feel" like a surfer again
Best things about Wavepark resort:
-STAFF are very accommodating right from the pickup at the airport, handling your boards and other gear with great care and doing it with a big smile...
Amanda (manager) gives incredible massages that are imperative for staying loose and relaxed while here. Teramakasi (thank you in indonesian) Amanda!
when you arrive on the island itself the entire staff is waiting on the beach waving and greeting all the guests, again with the purest smiles
Surf guides Will and Nathan are extremely knowledgeable as to wind and swell directions which change day to day, and there are so many different facing waves so the experience the guides have is key...
kitchen staff are lovely as well working very hard daily to provide guests with much needed and healthy, delicious nourishment after long sessions.
The hosts, Christy and Alice have been operating Wavepark resort since 1998 and have basically figured all the things you will need for a memorable surf experience....all you have to do is show up and be ready to paddle!
-BOATS that are taking you to different spots have been upgraded for this year and are a real game changer as they are faster and more comfortable than the previous boats in use
-WAVES seem to be ever present (their slogan is OVERHEAD WHEN FLAT) with new swells arriving every few days, unlike previous trips I have taken to Maldives and Fiji which seem to suffer flat spells that can last 3 + days, you wont get skunked!
My favorite wave here is called Hideaways which breaks just off the west side of the island and is a short (30 second) dingy ride or if your are a dawn patroler you can paddle out by walking a provided trail around and paddle from the beach.
Several guests brought kids this year and there are plenty of softer waves a short boat ride away.
-THE ISLAND itself is gorgeous with a sparkling blue water bay just steps from your bungalow, great for snorkeling the pristine reef with hundreds of tropical fish and coral of all different shapes and colors. Bungalows are clean and comfortable with plenty of deck space to stretch and prepare your boards for your next surf.
There is some amazing fishing to be had as well, just off the island you can catch Trevalis and Spanish Mackerel so dont forget your rod and tackle.

VERY IMPORTANT to bring your boards that have the most volume as you will find it much easier to get in earlier to the waves, I cant stress enough how much of a difference it will make for your wave count and comfort level in the surf. If you dont have a board with lots of volume, get one made! (you can thank me after your trip)

This was my first trip to the Mentawai. I can't imagine how anyone could provide a better experience than WavePark did. Christie and Alice were great hosts. Highly recommend.

My partner and I had an amazing time at the Wave Park. This is the place to go if you want to visit the Mentawai. Christie and Alice have literally created paradise on earth. They've thought of everything, including providing helpful information on logistics, taking care of your transportation needs from the airport to the hotel and hotel to the island, providing luxury accommodations and great food on the island, and providing boat support and knowledgeable guides for all your surfing needs. When everything is said and done this place is really a great value for your dollar. If you're not there to surf, no problem, the island provides plenty of entertainment in itself with amazing snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, paddle boarding just steps away from your cottage. If you are there to surf, the breaks around the Wave Park are world-class and only a short boat ride away, offering a range of waist high to over head waves, even during "flat" conditions. There is a break for every experience level, not to mention the local break just a short walk away.
