Irota EcoLodge

Jeroen en Lennard have built a small paradise in Irota. We stayed at the upper house for a few days. The house was light and spacious and has more than enough room for six people. The owners have thought of everything, from kitchen appliances to comfy chairs to relax outside, to screened doors and windows to keep any bugs out. The beds and - very important to me - shower are great.
The outside space is fantastic. There's a barbecue and a traditional Hungarian cooking stove outside, which more than makes up for the lack of restaurants nearby. You can just take your time preparing a home-cooked meal. There is enough space around the house and at any time of the day you can find either a spot in the sun or in the shade. The pool is nice and clean and again the owners have made sure you're comfortable with good pool-side chairs and a shower.
Jeroen and Lennard made us feel very welcome, they even invited us to the local village fest and we had a great evening there. They gave us plenty of tips to explore the surroundings and helped us make reservations when needed. What Jeroen and Lennard built here is very impressive. We highly recommend it.

We stayed in the Upper House – which was absolutely lovely. There is lots of space inside, with a large living area, dining table and kitchen. Everything we needed was there.

The patio area is larger for this house, and the garden slightly smaller (but still a good size). To be honest, all the houses looked lovely, and you have privacy between all the houses – all the patios are hidden from the other houses. The pool is shared between the three houses, is a good size and naturally maintained, and was a lovely way to cool down.

From our patio you couldn't see another building - just the hills and countryside!

The village itself, is small and is in a very quiet location, the only noises you hear are the birds and assorted wildlife. There are several towns nearby (driving distance), and the main option for food is about 20 kms away. You will need a car to get around, and to explore the surrounding area.

We arranged to have a food hamper available for when we arrived, which covered breakfast and lunches for our stay. We also had a couple of meals provided by one the ladies from the village, which were lovely and plentiful!

Jeroen and Lennard were excellent hosts – always happy to help with anything and keen to make sure our stay was the best it could be.

We stayed for 6 nights, went on a Tokaj wine tour, had a trip into Slovakia, did one of the walks around the local area and relaxed at the lodge for a couple of days. By the end of our stay, we ended up feeling that there still several places we wanted to visit – another time no doubt.

We had a great time, and will be back.

The environment, the house, the garden and the pool were all fantastic. If someone wants to relax entirely and enjoy an absolute tranquillity, in an accommodation where it is not needed to accept any standards that are lower than the best, this is the place to chose.

The house is beautiful and the hosts are amazing and super helpful! The house is equipped with everything you need including olive and sunflower oil, coffee, tea, salt, sugar. We spent a perfect long weekend. I recomend this place to everyone!

Well equipped houses (zero carbon), enough space for a big family with dog, superb vibe, beautiful landscape.

Fantastic property with three identically sized (but different motif's) houses that were ecologically built and designed to be self sustaining and carbon free, all the while providing luxury.

The surrounding farmland and forest isnsurreal in its beauty.

We rented all three houses for three families and it was ideal.

We arranged our first meal to be prepared and delivered by a local cook. It was delicious and plentiful.

Highly recomended to bring all food, drinks and supplies you will need as nearest store is quite far, and to be honest, you won't want to leave the property unless it is to enjoy the adjacent outdoors.

Perfect for people who is looking for silent place with excellent quality accommodations in the middle of nowhere.

2 éjszakát töltöttünk egy kellemes, őszi hétvégén a nyaralóban. Mindennel meg voltunk elégedve, jól éreztük magunkat. A lakás felszereltsége egy hosszabb időtöltést is komfortossá tett volna. Örültünk az elektromosautó töltési és a kerékpár használati lehetőségeknek is.
Szívesen visszamennénk még!

Tökéletes nyugalom, gyönyörű környezetben. A ház nagyon szép és kényelmes, modern.

10/10 A szállásadók tényleg mindenre gondoltak, amire egy szálláson szükség lehet, sőt! Az épületek tágasak, tiszták, gyönyörűek és minden a környezettudatosság jegyében került kialakításra. Amint pedig kilépünk a házból, rögtön a háborítatlan természetben találjuk magunkat, ahol csak a békákat és madarakat lehet hallani. Mesés volt, ide visszatérünk még.

Nagyon jól átgondolt és tökéletesen kivitelezett, környezetbarát és mégis minden kényelmi igényt kielégítő szállás. A valóságban még sokkal több a tér a házban és a kertben is, mint a képek alapján gondoltam volna. A szállásadók segítőkészek és figyelmesek voltak. Tökéletes választás volt.

Mooie, ruime villa's met veel groen in een piepklein dorpje van 50 inwoners. Volop rust te vinden. De eigenaren zijn gastvrij en hulpvaardig. Voor attracties en winkels moet je wel even rijden, maar er is van alles te vinden en te doen.

Csodálatos környezet, kényelmes, jól felszerelt házak, a kandalló szuper, a fogadtatás nagyon kedves, gyerek és kutyabarát :-), szóval minden adott a tökéletes kikapcsolódáshoz. Nyáron visszajövünk, hogy a medencét is kipróbálhassuk!
