Lovely abbey which is a unesco world heritage site. Need to take local bus to get here but well worth the trouble. Lots of history and the view from above the mountains is the best.

Beautiful place you can spend whole day. Satisfying for those, who seek spiritual, historical and also environmental rest. Arciabbey with basilica, monastery, library, lavender and other herbs fields, arboretum, and down in the town - nice pizza, beverages places - this all is worth visiting. No problem with utilities - parking, toilets. Whole farm, parking lot & tourist centres are financed from EU funds so it is freshly new and modern.

The Abbey has a parking with cover and good price. Then you go on a pathway and get a ticket and access the place. The church, the cloister (only from outside), the library, temporary exhibition can ce visited. Family ticket is very good deal. The shop has lots of interesting products and items.

Beautiful abbey, steeped in history, culture and elegance. The church and cloister are gothic with some Renaissance and Historicism touches. The library is one of the most beautiful libraries I’ve seen in Europe, and the panorama from the top is absolutely insane.

The abbey also has its own lavender products. One can get lavender soap, tea and more. Of course, being a self-sufficient abbey, they have other things as well. Enjoy!

This site is worth visiting. Everything is kept in a very good state. The visiting program contains mainly of three things:

1) The library that is an outstanding gem
2) The church that is good
3) The view to the valley that is very nice in a good weather

Combined a lot of history and Hungarian culture. Get at least an audio guided tour to experience the best though they also have optional actual guided tours. Beautiful hilltop views and stunning Gothic Abbey, Library and the crypt.

great place for a family short journey. Parking is near the church, loacated at visitor center. Go up with the stairway, and walk around the wall, you can find the entrance. It makes us shocked that they have an audio guide in Chinese, which is quite good for us to better understand the history.

loved it, so calm and peaceful. Make sure you there at 1pm then you can join the monks for prayer. If you want to do wine tasting you must book in day in advance.

The first of Hungary's historical abbeys. The tour in the grounds, basilica, and the library was very informative, with great views of the surrounding area. The vinery, brewery and restaurant also worth a visit. An absolutely recommend place.

This place is a Unesco Heritage site and holds a great meaning for the Hungarian nation as it is the first building of this kind in the whole of Hungary and played a major role not only as a religious centre but also as a cultural one, since there is also a school. The beautiful library has a collection of 4000 volumes and contains ancient documents where some words of hungarian language were firstly ever used in an official document

As part of the world heritage, it is a masterpiece. A bit crowded, but that is understandable. There is also guided tours, it was in hungarian only though.

This UNESCO monastery is beautiful, located on top of a hill overlooking the plains. It has its own herb garden and winery on site also! The latter located before the parking area of the abbey. Paid parking near the entrance of the abbey itself although not much and not many spots. Tickets around 2000 huf to enter. Once inside you see the main church and library, which is absolutely stunning and the highlight. At the end is a gift shop selling their wine and beer and other goodies. Recommend!

A nice visit to one of the eight UNESCO world heritage sites in Hungary. Take the bus from peron 11 Győr autobusz állomás and get off at Pannonhalma (get the bus ticket from the bus driver for 465HUF) takarékszövetkezet, then walk along Hunyadi St. You will reach the visitor center first, then choose one of the two paths: one leads you along the asphalt road, the other takes you into the woods around the archabbey. The admission includes an audit guide for you to enjoy the place at your own pace. The chapel and the library are open to the public. The museum shop worth a visit as well --- it is on the way out and you can't miss it
