Lovely medieval typical Hungarian restaurant designed like a cellar still upholdimg traditional Hungarian culture. Located in the heart of Debrecen.
The meals were served in Hungarian style, starting with the traditional goulash soup and then the main meal and some wine. While at it we got entertained by live Hungarian music played from a cello and a violin by highly motivated artists.

I enjoyed the evening with my husband courtesy of our special Hungarian friend.
I recommend this place.

The food is delicious, the portions are big and the prices are fair

The traditional Cigánypecsenye was delicious, my friend said the flavor exploded in his mouth. The chicken meals were very tasty as well, not dry at all. This restaurant serves many traditional dishes. The young waiter speaks perfectly English but they also have an English card. It was very quiet when we were there but I can think it's usually pretty full. My friend always kept an eye on the cute waitress.

I love this place and highly recommend it! The food is excellent and very authentic Hungarian with some modern dishes as well. Something for everyone. The wait staff is very nice. Everything is clean and tastefully decorated. Timing is good. I recommend the fruit soup or the fish soup--- excellent. It is great for bigger groups or a date. They have indoor or outdoor seating. They have parking.

Very good food, friendly and swift service. I highly recommended this for trying some authentic Hungarian food. I had the catfish soup with pasta and cottage cheese. Wonderful taste!

Amazing place to stay with delicious food.
We kept our wedding here and it was wonderful thanks to the friendly staff.
The rooms are really tidy and a bit unusual thanks to the special themes like cart, country, industrial and so on.
I highly recommend it. :)

Pros
- Warm welcome and kind service
- Food is freshly prepared and flavourful / everyone else seemed to be enjoying their meals
- Sometimes has musical performances
- The menu is small but this gives you confidence in the attention paid to each dish
- Prices are much more sensible than the restaurants on the central boulevard
- I would recommend this restaurant for a cosy traditional atmosphere

Cons/Suggestions:
- As Debrecen has a locally famous sausage it would be good for the restaurant to include a dedicated sausage dish. When I read about visiting Debrecen I heard about this but it was difficult to find and in nearly no restaurants. I had stuffed cabbage rolls with sausage which was very nice, but would have liked to try the Debrecener somewhere.
- Look into supply of fresh local beer from Debreczeni Sorhaz or Hajdu Serhaz rather than Soproni - this would really help you add another level of appeal
