National Botanical Garden

We combined the visit with a day trip to Vác end of October. From Vác we took the bus - which has a stop right at the entrance. We didn’t get a guided tour, explored ourselves. - the botanic garden is large, worth to plan 2-3 hours depending on your desire. As for the way back, we took the bus directly to Budapest (check bus schedule in advance)

At the time there were thematic installations spotted around which gave a special, local touch to it. The sea of Indian lotuses were really impressive. The lakes are also beautiful.
The glass house was fine too.
We missed a little bit the signages, name of trees, plants to be stated more clearly.

Overall great time, highly recommended

Very close to Budapest by car. Parking is for free outside. If you like nature, science and would like peace, you can spend 4 hours easily or more here. There is no restaurant close, so if you aim for those 4 hours, perhaps is best if you take food with you. There are a couple of ingenious exhibitions, there are also 2 or 3 greenhouses, all of them interesting and magical. Very much worth a visit.

A lovely day out. Beautify the senses. You can bring your hamper but there is a lot of eateries on the spot.

Well organized and large area. You can find something from all over the world and old forest-like regions as well. Good for study, good for recreation. It is hard to find food here so be prepared.

I would suggest to visit this Botanical garden once in every season. It is very different under different weather conditions. It has its own seasonal “flavours”.

Great park with spacious glasshouses full of beautifull and awesome plants/flowers. The park itself has lots of walks all over with planty of different trees and small lakes. It was great to see beautiful colours of autumn and enjoy smell of falling leaves. Highly recommended to visit at any time of the year!!!

Excellent opportunity to escape the city into a fabulous green island. Stunning views of the lakes, plenty of paths and exciting greenhouses. You can easily spend several hours here.

Good place to relax and watch nature's beauty

Beautiful place with lush fields and forest area with lakes. The kids enjoyed the flora and fauna. Even on a hot sunny day it's cool and enjoyable to walk around. The entrance fee is about 4000 HUF for a family with children under 10. Picnic tables are available, not blankets allowed on the grassy areas. Bufe has limited offer for gluten, milk egg free food. But coffee is available with non-dairy milk options.

Highly recommended, one of the most beautiful Botanical Gardens in Hungary. It's not even that far from Budapest.

Very nice place to spend 1-2 hours outside, with a lot to learn about plants, animals and nature.

Excellent. Plenty of signs so you know where to go to make the most of your day. Lots of benches so you can grab a seat to relax a little.

The guide was very practiced and kind. The garden was so beautiful and interesting.

Great Autumn walk. Beautiful site

The Botanical Garden is a real treasure,we visited it during the heatwave but thanks to the giant trees we could walk around in the shade.The variety of the plants,flowers,lakes is unbelievable!!!There are signs by every significant plant so the whole experience is really informative and educational.You can walk around on different paths and learn more about plants in a very enjoyable.way.I highly recommend the garden to all age groups.We totally loved it!♥♥♥
