Turkish-Hungarian Friendship Park

Given the troubled history and the numerous heroic symbols and sites in neighboring Szigetvar (Zrinyi, the castle, converted churches, the search for the heart of Suleyman, etc.), it's a good place to remember present-day relations.

Resting place of sultan Suleiman Kanuni and a monument park dedicated to friendship between two nations.

Could use some renovations, but overall beautiful.

Informative and sincere friendship park close to Szigetvar where 10th Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Lawgiver historically deceased.

You find this memorial if you leave Szigetvár towards Mozsgó right next to the road so you won't miss it, it's visible from a far distance on your left hand side. It was erected to commemorate the Szigetvár battle against Sultan Süleyman when the heroic Hungarians fought till their last drop of blood. You see two statues. One is The magnificent Sultan Süleyman's head and his tughra. The other statue is for Miklós Zrínyi who tried to keep the Szigetvár castle till the end. You find detailed descriptions about the history of this battle.

Monument in glory of a great rivalry

Very interesting place with strong political propaganda. But you can find out something about hungarian-turkish relations in the past and present. The place is nicely maintained.

Historical amazing take you to the past

Very nicely renovated some years ago, lots of information of the Ottiman centuries in Hungary. The land belongs to Turkey!

I thought it was more in the city center, which it is not. It's kinda abandoned there but otherwise, it's a good park to visit.

if passing by then this is must stop location which comemorates famous battle and great persons from croatian, hungarian and turkish history.

Truly impressive monument with the real burial place of Suleiman the Great. And it's free.
