A very nice place to visit for a weekend.. a peaceful place in Budapest. You can go for a small hike. After getting off the bus, go through trees. You can find a playfield for kids, small cafes, a good restaurant where you can find langos (a famous food of budapest) but this restaurant is closed in Monday. A breathtaking view you can find from the top of normafa where you can see the whole city landscape. It was an amazing experience. You can find a lot of people playing with dogs. People were hiking with families and friends. Overall worth a visit.

We took the Cog- wheeled train from in-front of Hotel Budapest. And we came back with bus 212 to the city centre. Loved the train journey as well. 😍

This place is truly stunning and will surely catch your eye. It's the perfect spot to spend time with your friends and have a blast. Kids will have plenty of fun too, thanks to the play areas. The location is perfect for leisurely walks, forest climbs, cycling, barbecuing, sunbathing, and simply unwinding. I highly recommend visiting this place. You'll be pleased to know that it's easily accessible via public transportation, and there are also several parking lots available if you're driving. In addition, there are convenient amenities such as a store, restaurant, and restrooms. So, don't worry about a thing and take in the beauty of nature at this magnificent destination.

Beautiful park used by many people on the weekend. Many trails, food and washroom facilities. Of railway to get to the park from town and ski lift (2,000 Huf return trip usable up to one year.)

I really like this place, full of positive energy, good for cycling, chilling, gathering. It has very beautiful sceneries.
You can go there with bus easily.
There are public restrooms in it. Also it has some cafes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

A nice place outside of city.. Bus ride of 30 mins takes you here. Excellent view of the city and on the one side you can see Elizabeth Lookout and on the otherside Hungarian Parliment..

I wouldn't really add anything new to the many reviews this hill and forests already have. You just have to go (it's only one bus ride from the city, and the route is enjoyable too) and see it for yourself. If you want to be immersed in the nature and have relaxing walks far from the city, then this is one of the places in Buda you can do that. Apart from the area in which you can have stunning views on Pest and beyond, which can be busy, as soon as you venture in any path you'll be almost alone.

A great place to start your day workout.
Not crowded in the mornings - 6-7 AM. If you're looking for a silence boost to balance your busy day, that's one of the places where to start.

Normafa , originally Viharbükk ( German :Wetterbaum) popular hiking and skiing area Budapest XII. district on the eastern edge of the Buda Mountains , part of the Buda Landscape Protection District .
Normafa itself is a small park-like clearing surrounded by trees, from which the winding Harang Valley starts towards the Zugliget . From the top of the clearing, an almost semi-circular panorama opens onto the deep valley of the Ördög ditch , behind which the Hármashatár hill and Rózsadomb rise, to the left of them Pesthidegkút , to the right the inner districts of Budapest and the Danube , and behind them you can see the Buda and Pilis mountains north of Normafa . In clear weather , the distant Gödöllő hills behind the Pest plain can also be recognized, sometimes behind it the Mátraits contour is also outlined. In summer, in good weather, the surroundings of the Hármashatár mountain can be admired, and in winter, sledders and skiers take possession of it.

It was really nice!

The hike was easy, nothing complicated.
Great place for walking, running or cycling.

The view over the city is beautiful.

"He that believeth the Son shall see life. He that believeth not the Son shall not see life, and the wrath of God abideth on him." when you go to a place like that at a time like that, you can only think about greatness and beauty.

We visited Normafa park and had a great day out visiting the various trail options and attractions
With way easily accessible trails, scenic views and historical buildings Normafa park is a great place to visit and get out of the city.
With food options and public accessible seating, benches and fire pits, the park is perfect for picnics or bbq lunches and is extremely popular in summer.
There is also a variety of walking and riding trails for mountain bike enthusiasts. Highly recommend to visit and get out amongst nature.

This is the best place to see a night panorama of Budapest. We visit this place once or a few times every year.

You can come up by car or bus.

When you're lucky enough to get snow up there it's beautiful and even places to sleigh. Delicious Hungarian food is in brand new booths. Hot wine too!

One of the closest and easiest places to go for a hike and out from the city rush. And also the best view of the city.

I mean, you can't not 5 star a natural sight. When I was there it was winter break, and a really good weather too, so obviously it was a little busy. But I don't like hiking alone in the woods anyway, so ut worked out. It was a lottle muddy because the snow just melted, so I had to stay on the road (many options for hikers to go).
There are a lot of bikers with dirt road/ freestyle path options too if you're interested.

It's a popular place among the local people as with beest view over Budapest beside Gellérthegy it offers you a lot of activy opportunities. If you stay more than a long weekend and the weather is nice, it's a really nice place to chill out(hiking, outdoor gym, BBQ places, piknik and leasure area, public toilets). You can eat one of the best Rétes and Lángos here. Probably its the only place for skiing in Budapest in wintertime.
If you come by car you might be difficult to find a place during the day.

WOW! What a beautiful gem in Budapest! A great place for morning run if you stay at Buda. 30mins bus ride on the 21 bus.
Very easy to get to with the frequent bus service. We were lucky to come at the right time for the amazing Autumnal colour.
There is a 5k running trail. Either on rubber track or well maintained forest trail
Must go to the János Hegy viewing tower.
Tips: come early you can have the whole place to yourselves.

One of my favourite places around Budapest, if you want to get out from the city to have some fresh air, or you are missing some nice walks this is the perfect place. Highly recommended! :)
