Kneginečka Hiža

A great place to have authentic, local dishes (comfort food at its best!). The food was really delicious and the service was great. It's a bit expensive but the portions were way more than enough for one person (consider splitting certain dishes or ask the waiters for an opinion). Don't miss ordering the Kneginec soup (Kneginečka juha) and split it with someone. :)
The zlevanka was also amazing!

Hidden gem outside of any main road or route, however, worth the visit. Mainly meat dishes served here but there is also vegetarian menu available. Make sure you call before visiting, most of the time they are full. Haven't tried desserts so can't discuss them here, but their soup is excellent, and so was the meat dish. Parking available inside the yard.

The name "hiža" (wooden cottage) would suggest you could get only some local specialties, but this hiža adds a nice twist to it with modern food.

We had for lunch the classic burger and baked gnocchi in a clay pot, grilled vegetables on the side, everything was very finely prepared and delicious = we would not change a thing.

The staff was very nice to us, made us feel comfortable, served the food promptly and was always wearing a smile. A nice touch was added by a young gentleman waiter who noticed us taking a photo in the outdoor part of the restaurant and immediately asked if we need help with that :) not very common nowadays to meet such care!

The food was excellent, and I don't think I've ever seen cleaner or more equipped toilets anywhere! There's a playroom for kids and a changing station so, family friendly on all fronts. The food selection is varied and you can find something on the menu even if you need a veggie option (not sure about vegan though). All in all, a really lovely and nice experience.

This restaurant is really worth while to visit. The staff is very helpful and service minded. The mushroom soup was amazing. The ham hock was even better. One of the best food memories I have had.

Amazing food, lovely ambient, excellent service - and with fair prices. All-in-all the best restaurant I've been in in the vicinity of Zagreb, it's just lovely.

The food is incredibly delicious. There are many differents foods such as Steak, Burgers or Chicken Wings. There's also Vege stuff. The restaurant itself looks very sweet and beautiful and the prices aren't that high. All in all a very very good restaurant. I'd recommend it to everybody. ❤

Absolutely worth those few extra five minutes for the detour from the highway. Very nice place where to recharge batteries on the long trips. Very good food for reasonable money. Kids could release the steam on the private playground while parents are enjoying caffee and dessert 😉

Nice location with parking to have a rest after a long trip. Spare ribs were excellent and totally recommended. English menu and English speaking waitress that was really helpful and polite. Additionally, you can also pay with card.

We were super hungry after a long trip with 2 kids. They served us fast. The food was absolutely delicious. Thank you! Burger and ribs plate was more than enough for 2 persons and the kids meal is really big size 😃

We continously return from Zagreb to this place from time to time to enjoy amazing food and atmosphere this place offers.
