Trattoria Vodnjanka

Came across this restaurant on searching top-rated/authentic/meat-seafood restaurant. It doesn't disappoint. Staffs are welcoming, speak good english and ordering is straightforward upon recommendation. The squid dish is interesting as its full of crunch, because of mixing in the squid spines, and fried anchovies. Clams and mussels are of standard taste, perhaps I'm so used to the French style buttery sauce. The veal is soft and tender. The highlight is actually the ricotta cheesecake, the base is made of nuts rather than biscuit. There are good selection of Croatian wines. Portion size wise is more of the upscale/fine dining size. Pricing is reasonable.

excellent restaurant, we had an incredible experience with friends, the food was the best in the world, unique flavors, I recommend all the dishes, the entries are delicious, the atmosphere is super cool, it is very quiet and reserved, very clean, super friendly service, always present, thank you very much for such a nice experience, good job, excellent team, I highly recommend it, they have a small parking lot but you can find a place nearby

It was grear. There were two menus, fish and meat one in four courses.

I tried both fish and meat and each dish was really nice and tasty and worth the money. I would come back if the menu would change in the future!

Wow!!! This just so happened to be the closest restaurant to our Airbnb. We tried to dine here the night before but they were full (good sign). We went back for a late lunch and were thoroughly impressed. The service and food are top notch. The service is very friendly and we are sad we cannot eat here again before we leave.

It’s worth every penny! Do yourself a favor and eat here. We had the fish but I would imagine everything is exquisite…including the wine. We had a great bottle of cab, which goes against the natural pairing but it’s what we like! Cheers!

We went for dinner just after 7pm on a Monday without booking and they were able to fit us in. The setting is very nice with lots of plants and very friendly and helpful service.

There are two set menus: meat and fish. I'm not sure if they can accommodate dietary requirements but I'd say probably not. The food was excellent, really high quality produce cooked simply but well. Our air bnb host recommended it to us as traditional Istrian cuisine.

This place lives up to its reputation and I'll be back for sure. Food is delicious and the menu, reassuringly, changes daily. Don't expect fine dining experience, only honest cooking. Service is quietly attentive and prices are reasonable. Enough said ..

The food they make is made every day fresh and they have daily a new menu as a Chef i can say that this is one of the best restaurants in Pula.

Amazing restaurant leading by 2 brothers. They are really friendly and you will feel like at home. You can choose fish or meat degustation menu( 4 courses). We had a fish menu and it was excellent. Also, the wine card is very good. They are also friendly to kids! You have to visit.

The food was very tasty from local ingredients and matched well with the recommended red wine. We could choose between meat or fish set menu (4 courses).
It’s a great place to enjoy well prepared dishes after a busy sightseeing day. Thanks a lot!

outstanding dinner. no reservations but we walked in early on monday evening. small seating area. wine recs were on point for the meal. service was a bit slow but both the fish and meat courses were delicious. nothing to fault. pricey but u get what you pay for.

We had a very nice dinner at this beautiful pittoreske restaurant. Heartily welcome and service. Authentic food, high quality! Good local wine selection, perfect choice and size of four course menu.
