Pizzeria Ruspante

The best pizza ever. This is not a pizza it is an experience. In a small village near spring of a beatuful river Gacka, waiters so polite and friendly, ingredients from local villagers... Dough was perfect, light, crispy from flour from nearby mill. Ruspante pizza with smoked chicken, purple onion, home made pesto, so perfecly combined. Carbonara pizza wih Basa cheese, eggs and bacon...oh my God, so good. For a desert we tried pancakes with Basa cheese, baked in oven and home made strawberry jam, excellent. For this pizza I would travel 200 km from home anytime. I can't wait to come again. Perfect.

There is only one bad thing if you eat at this restaurant... Your belly is not big enough to eat everything on the menu! This was literally the best pizza I've ever had, and I ate at supposed to be the best pizza restaurants in Italy.

The ingredients are fresh, and the pizza dough is crunchy, soft from the inside, but not wet. We got recommended Lika's Winter and Dudo's Dream. Lika's was super meaty and cheesy and Dudo's had the most amazing smoked chicken. As desert we got recommended Gacanka, which is.... well, just taste it. This place is heaven.

The pricing is cheap, too cheap if you ask me. The quality of these pizza's are like an 35€ pizza, but here you pay not even 1/3th! Enough room for tips I would say ;)

One of the best pizza places in Croatia, that also serves huge and tasty pancakes! Beautiful surroundings, tasty food with local
ingredients. Reservation is a must. Be prepared to wait a little longer to be served, but it is worth it.

Best pizza in surrounding, ... almost until Zadar and Zagreb :-).

Lambizza by Ribafish (pizza with lamb meat) is complete new experience of pizza tasting/eating ... must for every pizza fan. Prices are in accordance with quality.

Additional value is closeness of Majerovo vrilo (one of Gacka river sources) so you can combine both.

Keep in mind you have to make reservation during high season and use cash, plastic is not supported.

2023 update: Dudin san in even better that Lambizza.

Pizza here is just amazing! It's quite large with interesting and quality ingredients made to perfection. Desserts if you can take them after quite large pizza is just as good. Huge portion as well. It's worth every mile of detour you have to take to get to this place.

So delicious, the best vegetarian pizza that I have ever had. Lovely atmosphere, great service and very reasonable prices for top quality ingredients. Amazing!

'This place is really magical! The simplicity of living in a combination of the beautiful nature inspires! Then, you find a pizzeria with classic and strange combinations! I'm not really a pizza fan, but this one was extraordinary! In delirium of the taste I ordered pancakes, too! And this was heaven! (I'm also not a pancake fan! 🤣)

Ambiance: is like entering a cozy Italian trattoria. The warm, rustic/wooden decor, adorned with tasteful artwork and good lighting, creates an inviting and original atmosphere.

Staff: Ruspante staff are truly kind and very fast! Their hospitality is in that same parallel :) They are knowledgeable and well-versed in the menu, offering helpful recommendations.

Food: Prepare your taste buds for an extraordinary pizza adventure! The menu boasts an good array of artisanal pizzas, crafted with the finest ingredients and bursting with flavors. Whether you're a fan of classic Margherita, local pizza gem with smoked trout or my new favorite Double trouble (warning it's hot), each slice is a masterpiece.

In conclusion, this pizzeria is a gem for excellent pizza experience and wonderful local sights.

The best pizza in Croatia on the way from the coast to Zagreb. Beautiful ambient and really tasty pizza and pancakes.

Vegetarian pizza was quite average, but others (Roma, Carbonara and Lička zima) were really good. It is worth to drive for a while to reach that place.
The staff was very nice but the music was too loud (we sat next to the speaker and it was a bit annoying at first, but we got used to it).
They accept Kunas and Euros, however you can't pay by card.

Perfect pizza, probably best in Croatia, at the Gacka spring surrounded by beautifull nature.
We were squeezed inbetween two reservations and we very appreciated the favor. Definetely coming back.

We tried 4 type of pizza - delicious, thin dough, tastefool meat, amazing cheese. Sweet delicious pancakes. Nice and polite waitress. The best music ever made great atmosphere - Pearl Jam 🥰💚

I've visited Ruspante two times only, with a span of two years between visits, approximately.
First thing I noticed is the same quality of pizza dough. The pizza toppings are another story. They have some really interesting toppings which you won't be able to try anywhere else, for example with lamb or with trout. And they are very delicious. I ate Lička zima pizza with sausage and bacon.
For dessert I had Alaska pancakes with pistachios, Nutella and maple syrup.
Staff is very friendly, and I really had great time.
Pizzeria has a parking lot for it's guests, and it is located about 200 m before pizzeria if you are coming from center of Sinac.
It's worth mentioning that it is cash only, so be prepared.

In one word PERFECTION!!!

The setting, the atmosphere, the decoration of the interior, the staff, and then the food... A visit to Ruspante was really the cherry on top of our summer vacation this year. We came on a recommendation and did not regret it for a second.
The pizzas are perfect, all three we tried, it's hard to choose which one was better, and I've never had such a pancake anywhere - juicy, full of filling, soft, delicious, what a fantasy!

Great place. Very good pizza, napoleons style with quality ingredients. We are coming back.

Some of my friends say that this is where you'll find the best pizza in Croatia. After trying the pizza there myself I must say they really are among the best I've tried.

Making a reservation here is recommended. Especially on weekends. When we arrived they had no free tables, as all were taken or reserved; But they managed to squeeze us in.

All of the ingredients we tried were top class. Tomato sauce was perfect, the cheese was really good, meat was unlike in any other pizzeria I've been to and the dough was just perfect.

Should you visit? Big YES from me.

A hidden gem close to Plitvice Lakes and on the way to Croatian coastline. If you want to try extremely delicious pizza, enjoy the nature and fresh air, then this is the right place for you. When you are done with eating pizza and you are waiting for another one to bring it with you (because it was so delicious), there is an old mill maybe 100m from the pizzeria which you should definitely visit.

This is it. Look no further. This is the best as it can be. I reviewed a lot of pizzeria around the world and in Croatia. I always say even the worse pizza in Croatia is almost always better then the one you can eat anywhere else on this planet. Maybe even including Italy. But what to say when you find one of the best pizzeria in the world? Then you know that all that hard work you invest in searching for good pizza finally has payed off. Real pizza is always baked in "krušna peć". Checked! Real pizza is always made with fresh local products. Checked! Real pizza is always served on wooden desk. Checked! Real pizza always taste better when it's served in natural ambient like the one we experienced here next to Gacka river. Fresh air, smell of hot pizza, polite staff, and good prices. Margherita pizza starts from 38HRK (5€) and goes up to 70HRK (9.35€) to the pizza called Lambizza. This whole area is also well know for sheep farms, so yes, when you are here give it try. Next time I am ordering Lambizza. 😋
This time we took Debina and Siciliana pizza, with ingredients very similar, both wonderfuly delicious, tastefully amazing, and dough... OMG, I am drooling now when I remember how dough was fantastic. Maybe better word is to say doughtastic? ♥
They have only one size of pizza, and the size is enough large to make you feel full. I guess to make reservation ahead is good tip, we didn't do it, restaurant was 99% full, and few tables had 'reservation' on it. But polite waiter said, no problem, you will have your place, and soon we were sitting on beautiful terrace. Beer is Karlovačko, most local people order always local people, and we being local, did the same. There are lot of nice places when you go from Zagreb to Adriatic coast (like famous National park Plitvice lakes), but this one is for sure gastronimicaly and also in terms of nature the place where you need to stop and enjoy. Life is short. Live it and explore new fantastic places such as this. Wish I could rate this place 10 out of 10. 🤗♥

The best pizza, I have ever had
AND Pancakes

This was hreat experience. Pizza place in the middle of nowhere (no offense). We've expected something passable, maybe on verge of very good... Oh boy we were wrong. This was maybe best pizza i've had in my life. Domestic ingridients (domestic cheese, salami,...) Great crust, baked how it should be.
Music and decor is in biker mood.
There is also old mill in vicinit so you can walk around to spend these calories 😁

This is must see and have for everyone wondering through Lika and Croatia.

I am giving it 6 stars out of 5...
