Gacka springs

Wonderful peaceful place where you can enjoy glance of forgotten past times. Maybe back then life was more difficult but can't say it wasn't happier and more simplier. People more enjoyed in there everyday work and errands. I guess they even appreciate more products of their hard work. This fantastic place under name Vrila Gacke which were recently reconstructed are telling us that story. I think they deserve to be on UNESCO world heritage list.

Beautiful place for short visits and see old water mills. You can buy different types of flours directly from owners of the mills.

The Gacka Springs cool water comes from underwater tunnels and caves from over half a kilometre away (at least this is how far and deep special divers managed to discover). Almost a century ago, the Springs were used to power Mills for flour. The deepest point is 92 m. and the caves spread 620 meters away from the Springs. You can buy flour freshly grounded the old fashion way. A few hiking trails suround the area. All btogether, a few hours nicely spent.

Beautiful scenery. It really shows here how nature can be gorgeous without the human touch.

Double recommendation. Call before to reserve the table in Pizzeria Ruspante, and visit 'The springs on the Gacka River'. Unique taste of nice and cold river and good food in popular restoran 50m next to springs.

Its absolutely beautiful. A short walk around the facility blasts you into the past, definitely a must-see. The water is frigidly cold, so you can dip your feet in and see how long you can take it, haha!

Such a nice and authentic place and it's so worth visiting if you're in Lika region. There is an old historical mill on it where you can buy flour, similar homade products and learn about the milling process. Informative, sweet and serene.
