Bistro Old Shatterhand

Dinner was great! Service was slow, but I gathered they were unexpectedly busy because the tourist season hasn’t quite started but there were a lot of people in the area. The whole staff was very kind and hard at work the whole time. The food was amazing - I highly recommend it. Also they DO take cards now!
Follow up: we went for breakfast the next morning and it was still wonderful. Good food and good service. Couldn’t ask for kinder staff.

Went here for dinner and the food and the service was amazing!! We had two kids and even though they didn't have enough room at the time they still let us sit inside until they had availability. They were very friendly and made sure that everything we needed was taken care of. I will come back again!!

Most wonderful food I had in a long time. We were a group of 9 people and we paid money that could feed 15 . The food was so good seriously. And the owner was the most cool person we've met in Zagreb. Really after the lakes it was what we needed.

I definitively recommend this place. I went there two times for breakfast. I found this to be the best breakfast during my stay of almost a month in Croatia. The personnel is very friendly and helpful. You can also rent a room here. If you're in the vicinity, come see it.

The food and the beers are great, the meat is tasty and well cooked, the service is excellent, we want to thank Leu in particular, he was very kind, patient and polite, we will certainly come back!

Friendly staff, good food, veggie offering! It is a rustic, quaint and cozy place. To top it off, we got to feed the deer which was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Great for kids too in that sense, though it would be helpful to have a baby chair on hand. Overall I highly recommend as the food is good, the vibes are good, and it’s a whole experience!

Absolutely loved this place. Found it by accident, and it's just 2 min drive off the main road. Food was really good, huge portions and good value for money. We had meat platter (for 2 people) and we couldn't eat it all. Ended up coming here 2 nights in a row. Met the owner who gave us some free drinks, had a chat and a laugh with him and his daughter. My favourite part was finding out restaurant is actually on a ranch and they own deers! They gave us food to feed them, too. All in all, great experience and I'd definitely go back. ❤

Great food, even better service and amazing ambiance. The prices are reasonable and the cheese was delicious compared to 4 other places in Plitvice. We are vegetarian and they even gave us complementary home made cheese. We liked it Soo much that we took some for breakfast. The vibes are perfect

We stayed at a B&B around the corner and it was a short walk to Shatterhad. There is a small seperate lounge where you can have a drinks and enjoy the game. We had the mixed meat platter, it was gigantic and absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked, juicy and full of flavor. Paired perfectly with the local wine "Dingac". Great service and easy to pay with card. Looking forward to visiting again.

On the way from Zagreb to Split, we chose this place for lunch. The reviews were good, but the experience was great. The restaurant is a little far from the main road, which allows for a peaceful atmosphere. A special experience is the deer that you can feed. The staff is extremely friendly. The food is homemade and excellent. This place is easy to recommend. Will definitely come again!

We took the house specialties and enjoyed every single bite of it.
As a cherry on the cake, the service is amazing and the host super welcoming.
Not to mention the deers, and the possibility to feed them directly from your hand.

We stopped at the Bistro Old Shatterhand for early dinner. As 3 of my family members are celiac, we asked the waiter for gluten free options. As the French fries are prepared in the same oil as other meals containing gluten he immediately proposed to fry the potatoes separately from everything else. The food was excellent. The Kajmak was delicious.

We also ordered Forelle (grillled trout)… fresh and delicious.
The service is delightful and attentive; and ambience is warm and cosy.
A perfect lunch!!

Passing by for a drink resulted in evening of laugh and fun. Owner Zlatko is most hospitable host. He invited us for a drink in “staff” room next to entrance to wait for table. We are coming back :)

We LOVED this restaurant! It was a great last meal for our time in Croatia and Slovenia. The ribs were fantastic. Some of the best ribs we’ve ever had. The Shatterburger was huge and somehow our son finished the whole thing! We will definitely be back if we find ourselves in this part of the country again. Our service was also incredible. We loved feeding the deer before our meal. And the dog was also so cute.

Very cozy setting, especially at night with the lights , campfire and the live played music. Friendly staff. The food was very tasty and made from fresh products from the ranch. Also big portions and good prices. A beautiful location and overall an unique experience. Would definitely recommend!
