A place like a dream. We appreciated Sonja’s hospitality very much, she made us feel welcome like we were family. The location is exceptional, well renovated stone buildings, chickens roaming freely, fig trees everywhere, and lavender too. Great pool, the stay was very intimate, and we chatted with the few other guests at the breakfast table about things to do. At breakfast which is more like a brunch everything was home made and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend and dream of coming back one day.

We had a wonderful time! Sonja's place is charming, beautiful garden, great swimming pool. Sonja is a perfect host!! You definitely need to try her breakfast.

Dont forget to rub Obamas belly 🤣 he is the one in charge of the place!

Wonderful place and hostess! Beautiful garden and swimming pool. Delicious homemade breakfast in a very charming and authentic Istrian house. Comfortable accommodation. Chickens, dogs, cat, donkeys... Many friendly animals in an elegant property where you find both privacy & calm as well as great company with hostess Sonja. Perfect for families (plenty of space for kids to play ) but also friends and couples. Superb villages to visit. Highly recommended !

If there is one place to see and one person to meet, it is Casa Matiki and the inspiring Sonja!
I could write a book about this exemplary woman, the kindest and strongest of her kind...

I had a wonderful stay in February here at Casa Matiki. Sonja is super kind and so helpful. All her recommendations were 10 out of 10 points. I visited this place to write my thesis at a quiet location surrounded by mother nature. To reward a good writing session, I visited Pula, Rovinj, Motovun, Pazin & Porec in the evenings. All those cities were less than 30 minutes away from Casa Matiki, highly recommendable!

Awesome breakfast (freshly picked eggs, homemade jams and bread, local salami and cheese is to die for), tidy and extremely well kept gardens. We were chasing chickens in the morning and had a refreshing swim in the afternoon. Apartments are spacious and very clean, the location is quite so you can get a good night sleep. There's a cute donkey farm just a short walk away. Owner and other staff members were very helpful and gave a special homely feel to our stay.

Incredible place! A real hidden gem in the nature and middle of istria. The location is pefect to explore the beauty of istria, more less every importent sights are approx. In 20-30min reachable. Sonja & her team were so wonderful hosts! For me they made the best breakfast ever, local ricotta, homemade marmelades fresh eggs from the own chickens and so on and son...I really enjoyed every single minute at Casa Matiki!!! Defenitely will coming back.

Casa Matiki is paradise! Everything is super clean and safe, the breakfast is amazing, huge garden with pool is the best place to relax and the host is extremely helpful and friendly. Lovely place! ❤ we will definitely be back!

Sonja its the best host ever, a nice cooker and its like a grandma for my kids, she always teach about flowers and vegetables and anything you want to know about Croatia. Matiki is a biiig property in the middle of istria, you can go to rovinj, pula, rijeka e zminj very fast by car. She have a lot of apartments and you can choose to be near by chickens, in studios (in the big house) or in other, always with kitchen and whatever you need. They have a big pool and a basket court. I bet you have fun there.

Staying in Casa Matiki was an excellent experience, but owner Mrs. Sonja is more than amazing. When I grow up I want to be Sonja!!!

The hostess Sonja pours her heart and soul into her business and it shows in every aspect - from the appearance of the property, which is handled with meticulous care, to the delicious breakfast, made entirely from local and fresh ingredients (fresh as in: curd cheese that's produced on the morning that it's served, eggs picked from chicken coops on the farm...).

Amazing stay, we loved every second of this paradise!!! Sonja was also an amazing host in this paradisiaque place

Posto magico mi sono sentito rilassato come non mai un posto per chi ama la natura perché ci sono un sacco di piante e fiori . Sonia è stata gentilissima la colazione al mattino era favolosa ogni cosa era buona piscina pulitissima . Un ottimo posto ci ritornerei volentieri

Casa Matiki rappresenta un perfetto mix tra relax spensieratezza amore e qualità.
Il tutto curato da una disponibilissima e presente Sonja: anima creativa e organizzativa della struttura.
In casa Matiki puoi vivere un’esperienza a contatto con la natura approfittando di un bellissimo giardino con numerosi alberi e piante come fichi, ulivi, uva, ibisco, lavanda e piante grasse, circondato da simpatici animali come asini, gatti, cani galline e pulcini.
Il tutto senza rinunciare al piacevole comfort della grande piscina e diverse chicche creative come un letto prendisole baldacchino sospeso, una torre in legno che, oltre a stimolare la fantasia di gioco nei bambini, permette di vedere un bellissimo tramonto.

Abbiamo soggiornato in casa pergola per due settimane e potuto apprezzare delle buonissime colazioni proposte da Sonja con prodotti tipici del posto.

La struttura è in posizione strategica in quanto si raggiungono le principali attrazioni in circa mezz’ora.
Ideali per famiglie ma anche per coppie giovani e più anziane.

Grazie a casa Matiki, non solo torneremo a casa più rilassati ma ha rinnovato in noi la consapevolezza dell’importanza dell’unione e il rispetto tra uomo animale e natura.

Ein wundervoller Ort,
für die etwas ruhigeren Urlaubstage.
Bereits bei der Einfahrt in das Areal wird man durch den Duft der Lavendel und Jasmin Pflanzen betört.
Eine wunderschöne Gartenanlage erwartet einen mit ausreichend Schattenparkplätzen.
Die Zimmer sind wie beschrieben. Auf jedes Detail wurde geachtet. Nichts ist zu viel, alles ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Kein Schnickschnack, wenig, bis kein Plastik…
Auf den Zimmern gibt es kein TV und das WLAN hat eben auch nicht überall die Reichweite. Für diesen Urlaubsort genau das richtig.
Es gibt Esel, Hühner und Hunde.
Das Frühstück ist super.
Es wird so gut wie kein Müll produziert. Käse und Wurst kommen aus Familienbetrieben aus der nächsten Ortschaft, gebrühter Kaffe, Eier von den eigenen Hühnern, Wasser aus Karaffen, selber hergestellte Marmeladen und Sonja versucht alle Wünsche zu erfüllen.

Es waren tolle Tage bei Sonja, ein wundervoller Mensch, die ihre ganze Schönheit den Gästen bietet.
