Otocic Vrnik

One of the best islands next to Korcula. Small and cute, nice and clean beaches and good food.

Vrnik island near Korčula is a small part of paradise. Just a 20 min drive with a small taxi boat and you are there. Beautiful sea color, small village with church and just pure nature.

Adorable little island off the coast of Korcula. You can visit only this one(80kuna) or combine it with Badija and Lumbarda (120).
There is a nice (rather expensive) restaurant, a little church, some umbrellas and deckchairs and little pebbly coves you can discover for yourself.

Superb small island with great clean water and beaches. The whole island can be walked around over rock close to sea. Very peacefull place.

A tranquil little island in the middle of the Adriatic.

Take a taxi boat from Korcula's east harbour (80kn return) and be there in between 15 and 30 mins (depending on if it stops at Badija or port 9). They seem to run at least hourly and there are loads of different ones that appear to go at the same time (we never quite worked out the system but it worked and all the independent ones cost the same).

The island itself is inhabited and there are also many abandoned small stone buildings from the quarrying days. The island has been largely quarried in the centre and we were informed that the stone from it was used to build Korcula old town, Dubrovnik old town and The white house (Washington DC, USA).

However, the quarries have now been out grown by beautiful greenery. Walk along from your landing point and you will pass a small chapel, houses and a very expensive restaurant (200 kn or more for every main course). However, if you continue on, you will come to restaurant Skoj. They do a meat dishes ( pork skewer, ćevapčići, chicken, hamburger), salads and fish at around 50kn. The food is really good and the restaurant is small and relaxed at the back of their house.

Walking further along the coast you will fond beautiful stone beaches with stunning views across to other islands. These beaches offer an excellent acess point to the water (however the current was fairly strong as it was windy when we went).

After a while, the path winds inland around the old quarries and slowly disappears. It is possible to walk around the whole island on the rocky surface, but this is not easy in many places and with the island being so empty it is very easy to find an empty bit of coast to sit and enjoy the scenery without going to far.

This is really beautiful island with many buildings and structures. And we found one or the best places to go by the sea around Korčula.

Good little island to walk and see old workings & disused buildings were once a stone quarry kept a lot of people in work. Had a couple of small beers in the restaurant near the ferry point 6 euros each. Wait until Lumbarda 3.5 euro for a large beer.

Piękna wyspa. Idealna dla rodzin z dziećmi. Ma swój urok i klimat. Mozna odpocząć od zgiełku i codzienności. Piękne widoki i spokój. W pobliżu restauracja z dobrymi drinkami. Polecam

Petite île avec pleins de spots pour des photos. Pour se baigner il y a quelques criques mais pensez à vos chaussures de mer pour le confort de vos pieds.
L’île est accessible via un taxi boat, depuis l’Aminess Port9 Hôtel (80kunas) mais aussi depuis Korcula.
Il n’est pas possible de faire le tour de l’île, elle est vraiment plus petite que Badija. Il y a cependant une vingtaine d’habitants ainsi que deux restaurants.

Piękna mała wysepka przy Korculi. Dostać się na nią można jedynie łodzią. Jak by świat zatrzymał się wieki temu. Fantastyczny klimat. Cisza, spokój, wspaniałe widoki i słońce. Nie usłyszy się tu żadnej muzyki. Cisza. Warto zobaczyć rzymskie kamieniołomy i maleńki stary kościółek.
