Kažun Tavern

Very nice restaurant located outside of the city center. The food is amazing and the portions are large. The staff is friendly and helpful. The interior is nicely arranged with a fireplace in the middle. There is big parking in front of the restaurant. I recommend Adriatic squids with home made potatoes. It's pricey though!

We asked our Airbnb host to recommend good resturants that the locals like. He recommended this place and it didn't disappoint! We loved everything they offered, the tagliatelle with truffles was so flavorful, the steaks were perfectly cooked. I had the steak with truffles and hubby had the pork steak stuffed with prosciutto and cheese topped with mushrooms. Both were tender and delicious. The service was top notch and our waitress was very nice and gave us advices about the dishes we chose.

After a year we visited Kažun tavern again and we were pleasantly surprised with great food, beautiful and pleasant ambience. Everything is so real Istrian. There is an excellent selection of Istrian, Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. The tavern has a long tradition and follows the tradition of local Istrian dishes. We opted for the fish menu. It was extremely tasty. We started with Shellfish on buzzara, black risotto with cuttlefish, black and white ravioli with prosciutto and cheese. Simply phenomenally delicious. Then we continued with a mixed fish platter (calamari, sea bass, gilthead sea bream, kadel - small shark, fried sardines, and grilled tuna steak), with a rich side dish of baked potatoes and a mixed Mediterranean salad. What to say but again phenomenal. Dessert was a great fruit cake. Pleasant evening in a pleasant atmosphere and with excellent food. The staff is professional, kind and friendly. Prices are reasonable.

Super-fresh food!! During my holidays in Croatia, this will be the best place I ate! Pasta is homemade and super tasty! The prices are really great and portion of food is really big🤪

Very nice place with good food. The chef obviously knows what he is doing. The waiting staff is also really friendly. The price is a bit higher than average in istria, but well worth it for the quality.

Excellent food, excellent ambient&service, great choice also for gluten free meals. We tried gluten free ravioli, was perfect, delicious monk fish & amazing fish risotto.

I had ordered the black risotto with cuttle fish. It was just incredibly delicious! The waiters and the boss are very nice and accommodating. I can recommend to everyone without hesitation.

When in Pula I would definitely recommend to dine in this restaurant. It is perhaps not in fancy part of the town but the food and atmosphere are definitely worth the price. We had some local meat and fish starters and monkfish as main dish. With the meal we had local white Istrian wine Malvazija which was also if good quality and went well with the fish. Will come again when in Pula.

Nice place whit nice food.

It's a nice restaurant with a great atmosphere, placed in a traditional Istrian kažun, which makes it really special. We ordered both meat and fish. The food was fresh and tasty, the portions were big. We had great service, so it was overall a nice experience. Would come again!

Very good kitchen, a bit pricey but top quality

This was the best restaurant we have been to in Croatia in the two weeks we’ve been driving through the country. Most of the time, meat, in our experience, is not prepared with much care, resulting in chewy and/or dry meat.

BUT, at Kazun Tavern we had a mixed grill menu for two wich was prepared marvellously!!! We had such a nice diner👌🏻
