FOOD is amazing!!! we've got a Shrimp plate for two with pasta and a house wine. Absolutely fabulous service from super nice Marin, the guy who is helping out the owner. Lovely from the moment we've come till we left. Easy going ,dog friendly and quiet during the day. Just what we were looking for.
Shrimps were served with simple hearty tomato sauce but soo well done that I was surprised myself (an experienced foodie and cook).
They had also fresh oysters from the sea - tasted FAB!!!!! 🔝
NOTE: If you come by a car the accessibility is pretty much non existent unless you have an offroad and willing to get your car scratched on a steep ROCKY road and brushes.NEVERTHELESS we did park out off-road car mid way and came to this marvelous bay. Keys are great I am not sure if they are cleaning the sea urgents from the shore but they were not present until bit further.
Tomorrow we're coming back for more of this vibe!!!

Truly a hidden gem that is so rare these days. The fish was the best I have ever had in my life, and I’m a frequent fine diner and foodie out of NYC. Fresh from the sea moments before cooking. Make this place a top pick!

This place is an absolute dream. It was a really special experience from the afternoon that we moored in the bay, to the moment we set off the morning after. The beauty of the spot is incredible. Crystal clear waters, picturesque stone building... white linen blowing in the wind... butterflies... the homemade wine is tasty, and dangerously drinkable!
Despite the fact that there was no ice, no WiFi signal, and no plumbing—it still tops the list as my most amazing experience in Croatia. The family who run Gambo are so friendly, kind, and funny, too! They were even sat around the table drinking and singing together after dinner, it gave me goose bumps. And we saw wild boar at the end of the garden! It was incredible and magical from start to finish.

After 20 years in Nautica and skippering, I have finally visited Gambo. This time I came with my friends and family on foot. I have been in this bay many times with my clients,but only for a swim as I always had arrangements in Sucuraj. There are just a few places in Croatia that I can place in this category, rare, traditional and completely superb. Nothing else needed to add. Definitely worth the price and effort.

The bay is incredible as well as the food and the attention, without a doubt a mandatory stop on the island, unforgettable.

The restaurant is not easy to access from the road, you gave to walk more than 1km in a track to get there.
But, when you get there it's a little place of paradise, the food is really delicious, the owners is nice and speaks English, the place is wonderful. You can spend the night on the beach

The best restaurant for sailors, super fish and shrimp, great wine and wonderful homemade liqueurs and wine, in between petanque and table tennis, the evening ends with a visit to the wild pigs 👍

I rate myself as a connoisseur of good food. And for good food, I am willing to pay. As we arrived in Sucuraj for holiday this year, there was one place I was really curious to visit, Gambo. I had read that it was not possible to access the place with a car, only by boat or by feet. Nevertheless, we walked down the tough road, not once but twice. Arriving the first time we had the beautiful beach all for ourselves, clear blue water, a warm breeze of wind and a fantastic view. Beside the beach, you can have lunch o dinner outside a fisher house. Before I tell you about the food, Gambo is not really in my opinion a restaurant, they only serve 2 or 3 different dishes, it is a culinary adventure. For lunch, we had a large portion of scampi with spaghetti, a plate of vegetables, bread, their homemade olive oil, white wine, mineral water, sweets and a digestif. Let's start with the bread and olive oil, the best I have ever had. We used all bread, cleaning the oil from the plate. Vegetables, fresh, tasty without any extra flavour. This is how one should eat vegetables. And the scampi with spaghetti, soooo goood, the best I have had during my life. Forget about fork and knife, get your hands dirty and dig into this extraordinary experience. EAT! The sauce, the scampi and the spaghetti, unbelievable good. Combined with a good white wine and some mineral water, outstanding. The sweets afterwards with a digestif concluded the marvellous lunch, Later on, we also tried the fish, same story. As we could not just accept this, we came back the following day. Best food I have had in my life as a professional. And it is fresh. And the ambience. Outstanding. As we do not want this place to change we kind of beg you, who do not understand what good food is, or cry about prices, please stay away from this jewellery.

LITTLE SLICE OF PARADISE! Gambo-Hvar is by far the most beautiful place I have ever been. Not only does it have gorgeous sunset views, but the food is top notch. The prawns are my personal favorite dish. Or enjoy fish grilled in the outdoor oven. You can even say hello to the pet octopus, if you would like! What makes this place truly special are Gambo, Rosie and Borko! They are incredible hosts who will make your experience unforgettable! Would highly highly recommend!

Amazing food, in an incredible secluded bay. One of the best hidden gems in Croatia! Gambo, his wife and son are fantastic hosts. Highly recommend.

Wow… Too little words for describing the perfection of this restaurant.

It was a long day. 6 friends and me are sailing in Croatia for a week. The third day, after a rough night out as real Balkanboys, we made a tremendous trip to the Sucúraj. Due to lack of wind, we were bound to the motor of our cracky ship. Minor detail: the boat we initially booked ran on the cliffs with the previous sailors. So we got stuck with a floating t4rd, that our charter called a ship… anyway, back to Gambo.

As there was no wind, our speed was stuck at 6 knots and we had to call the owner a couple of times as to inform him of our tardiness. But what a host, the owner. He had absolutely no trouble with us coming late. 22.30h we areived in the very magical bay of Gambo. Set up about 15 years aho, the son had taken over the place from his father.

When we were done throwing out the anchor, the owner picked us up in his dingy, perfect. As we were so late, the vhef had already started making his specialty. Prawns as a first course and local fish (bream) as a main. The prawns were obviously caught that morning, just like the bream. Inredibly tasty fish. The bisque-like sauce that was included with the prawns, was perfect for dipping the home-made bread. In addition, we had unlimited white wine served in glass jugs. And to top it all off, we got a traditional Croatian desert: fried pieces of dough with powdered sugar. All-in for just €60 a person.

After dinner, which was around midnight, the owner took us back to our floating t4rd were we would stay for the night.

This restaurant is just lovely. Good service and even better food, my oh my…..

Cute Cuban vibes, nice pebbly beach, clear water. They serve sea food depending what they caught that day. This is why they do not have a menu. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming.

Great food! Stopped off on our sails and really great food and hospitality even though it poured with rain prior to food!

A really special find on the Adriatic Sea, and has been the best food experience I’ve had therein my stay in Croatia!💛The owner was funny and warm, his attention to details on the food is remarkable, fresh ingredients, authentic taste, the service was wonderful! And that priceless view of the water. I’m so happy I’ve had find this place, my absolute favorite restaurant in the area! Will definitely go back again if I return to Croatia! Highly recommend 😉

Amazing and charming restaurant in wonderful quite bay. Restaurant stuff was very nice and our main dish was great. My family spent one of the wonderful nights there during our sailing trip.
I d like to recommend this restaurant and bay to all people who are sailing in this region.

It is an amazing place with beautiful interior. The staff is very professional and polite. The food ,which we ordered with my friend was delicious and portion were big.
