Villa Irene Plitvice Lakes

Best, best, best ever! Very recommendable! Most friendly hosts, best food (self made dinner!), room service breakfast! But it costs it‘s money!

We had a wonderful stay at Irena‘s and Damir‘s villa. They are very friendly. The dinner was very delicious. Everything they prepared was handmade and super tasty, but also not super cheap! For a few people it is important: you can only pay in cash. No credit card is possible. No problem for us, because we knew that before. The rooms are big and well decorated. We liked the style. After all, highly recommended to stay here! 💚

The room/apartman was gigantic, well decorated, thoroughly equipped.
Irene, the owner, has this amazing people-skill: she makes every one feel special. She also gives great advice to visit the area.
Food is otherworldly 😍🤤! Breakfast may seem expensive (20€ each) but it is so generous, you can save a portion for lunch.
You can borrow bikes + helmets, enjoy a hot tub or your terrace.
I did not want to leave!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Irene. We were greeted by Demir, Irene's husband, who was very hospitable, opened the hot tub for us and brought us a glass of wine. The room was beautiful, very spacious and well equipped. Dinner was delicious as was breakfast, we wish we had been able to stay longer.

I would recommend Irene's place to ANYONE who ever visits Plitvice Lakes!

My friend and I visited Plitvice Late back in late May and we stayed at Villa Irene. This is very much an overdue review for Irene and Damir.

Damir contacted us the day before we were supposed to arrive and shared pretty detailed instructions for check in, asked for food preference etc. Damir told us his wife Irene is a very good cook and he was 100% right!

Irene cooks Michelin star level food, bring breakfast to your room or patio. The place was so clean and well organized. You also get amazing mountain view while dining Irene's delicious food! My biggest regret was not staying here for one more night to enjoy more of Irene's cooking! She's also just the sweetest lady.

And bring cash for payments here!

Irene was a phenomenal host! Our room was lovely and had a balcony which showcased wonderful views of the mountains. Dinner both nights was fantastic and so was breakfast each morning. Breakfast was room service and it was so nice to eat on our balcony. Most of the food was homemade and she gave us the recipe for her delicious chocolate cake! Each rooms come with a stove and pots,pans,plates, etc, so of you wanted to cook you can. Two nights here was not enough and we hope to come back one day!

Irene and Damir are both wonderful and very helpful people. The aparatments are very clean and cosy, equiped with everything you need. Our kids loved the jacuzzi.
We loved our stay there and will definitly come back!

This place is amazing! The homemade dinner was delicious, and the scenery is gorgeous. Irene and Demir are the nicest people we met in Croatia and their hospitality and helpfulness made my trip so much better. The trunk of a car fell on my face... Irene & Demir attended to me immediately, helped clean up the blood and the open cut. I was about to faint and I don't know what I would have done without them. They went above and beyond in helping me, and I cannot express how grateful I am for their kindness. From the bottom of my heart, thank you both so much. If you are thinking about staying here, you definitely should. You won't get this kind of hospitality any where else! One of a kind experience.

Highest possible recommendation. Modern yet charming rooms. Very spacious with all the amenities you could ask for. Irene was amazing. She made us feel instantly at home. Her cooking is top notch. Will definitely stay here again during the inevitable trip back to lovely Croatia.

The most comfortable stop of the three stops on the Croatia trip. The host is very warm and helpful and helped us a lot. Too bad we couldn't have dinner with them because of us. Next time!

Friendly and helpful hosts- welcoming, nice and gave a lot of tips to visit Plitvice Park and the area. Big studio apartments, very clean, quiet in a great location. Kids have garden to run and play. A very delicious dinner that the host makes, with vegetarian options. Perfect stay for families, Perfect relax from city life!!

Fantastic place to stay, I just wish we had stayed longer. The fairly new apartments are very close to the lakes and make for a great staging point for exploring as well as for traveling between Zagreb and Split. The owner is very nice and is super helpful with questions and suggestions for food (Degenija) and touring the lakes (Route C). He even shared a welcome glass of wine with us. The rooms are immaculately clean and huge. You have your own private apartment with a huge bed, big bathroom, and kitchenette plus a seating area and TV. The wifi isn't lightning fast, but it's amazing that they have it at all in this area and was a definite bonus. The rooms also have an attached patio with comfortable seating which is perfect for watching the sunset with a bottle of wine. There aren't even Mosquitos. Best of all, the robot lawn mover will wish you a good night and keep away bears. We are already planning a trip back just to stay here.

If you go to Plitvice you need to accommodate here. Irene is an awesome cook and she and her husband are the best hosts. We enjoyed very much our stay here and for sure we will come back.

Very nice place, my favourite of the holidays. Very ckean, nice and in the nature. The owner is very kind, gave us suggestions and help in choosing restorants, ways, things to visit etc. Villa Irene is very close to the entrance of plivice lake... so definitely to be considered.

We travel a lot and have 50 visited countries under our belt, but thanks to our host Irena, our stay near Plitvice Lakes was once-in-a-lifetime experience. She cooks heavenly and did everything in her power to pamper us. We will dream of her fish and pancakes for years to come. Luxurious spotless clean room, stable wifi and comfortable whirlpool were just cherries on top.
