Absolutely wonderful Croatian restaurant, had the traditional meat plate to share, nice local beer and wine as well. Sat on the patio, very nice.

Very cute spot for lunch or dinner. Not too pricey but the food was spot on. It is quite a small place so might be hard to get a spot. Highly recommend anyone eating here

Outstanding dinner and excellent service. We came with a larger group and were treated exceptionally well. Wonderful meal of the traditional Croation meat under a dome

Amazing, really everything was amazing in this place, all typical Croatian, in particular from Dalmatia region.
Besides the classic meat, salads and soup, you can also try some 'exotic' dishes, such as grilled frogs or eels!
Great selection of plates and deserts, lots of good local wines and a very lovely staff, in particular the woman who serves us.
For very traditional dishes, you may ask for reservation at least 3 hours in advance.

This is a perfect restaurant for the ones who would like to taste traditional Croatian food.

The starters we had include several kinds of delicious cheese, sausages, fried dough, and garlic patty.

The main course we had included veal meat, meatballs, grilled chicken and fried chicken breasts.

Veal meat was a legend. Other meat options were also tasty.

If you want to try dessert, I can recommend the chocolate cake or cream caramel. Both were so delicious.

The staff is helpful and quick. The prices are a bit high but considering the served food, it is worth.

Authentic ‘octopus under the iron bell ‘ dish is a must, though it needs to be ordered a day ahead as it takes hours to cook . One order can easily eat two or three people . A must local dish - do call ahead to order and book a table at this legend my restaurant . Not too expensive !

What an amazing typical Croatian dinner!
The place is super nice, especially the interior part where you can really appreciate the history of the place. The inside is really conveying history, with many details like tobacco leaves on walls, old pictures etc.
The food then is very very good, fresh, with abundant portions and very fair prices.
I tried the ustipci with kaimak and cheese, the perfect way to start this typical dinner.
To follow I tried the babina tava, with chicken, vegetables and potatoes cooked together which was really amazing, I really suggest this!
I also tried the pljeskavica (balkan burger) which was also good.
The service was quite fast, waiters were very welcoming and kind.
5 stars only because I can not give them more!

We visited this place around 8 pm for dinner. Unfortunately it was raining at the time we visited and the whole surroundings were dark and not nice. The restaurant also have very limited seating. We recommend to visit this place in daytime for lunch. Anyways, We tried Didova Tava (Grandfather’s Pan) and strukli. The Grandfathers pan is a baked dish which had lots of vegetables mostly potatoes and paprika and a couple of veal and pork. The baked potatoes were good but the meat tasted okay and not so great for us. I think there might be more better options in their menu. The strukli was good. Overall the food we tried was average.

We were a group of guests from different countries. The food was delicious and abundant, starting with meat delies, cheese, and traditional pastries, followed by steaks, baked potatoes, and salad, finishing with a variety of cakes. The interior, music, service and the overall atmosphere were pleasant and enjoyable, by everyone's opinion.

Food: Portion is bug and the taste is awesome, so you would feel it worth the price. They served the local dishes. We tried the mixed grill for 2 and the seabass grill. The side dish on the seabass grill was super delicious spinach. Black Risotto is the appetizer you should try.
Service: the waiter was super nice. He put a lot of effort to meet our satisfaction. He managed to get one table for us outside. He recommended which food are good to meet the taste that we were looking for.
Atmosphere: in the muddle if castle and medieval structures. So nothing could be more artistic.

Food is really good and wonderful. Nice spot on one of Zagreb's oldest roads.
They have The. Best. Turkish. Coffee. I have ever had. I had many and I grew up on Turkish coffee.
Wonderful place. Must. Go.

Typical Dalmatian restaurant in the heart of Zagreb, it’s worth going all the way up there to taste the food.
They have quite some quirky options on the menu like frogs or snails.
We had the snails, the prosciutto and the grandma’s pan. For desert, the boiled apple with walnut.

A wonderful tavern off the beaten track! Delicious food with terrific service. Located in a quaint neighbourhood but bustling on the weekend.. so enjoy the mood with a lovely at-home feel.

Authentic Croatian restaurant with good service and atmosphere. I ordered Grandpa‘s Pan which has fried potatoes, grilled porks and vegetables. Ambience was excellent with Croatian music. Service was great too. The homemade bread was amazing, I really like it. We ordered black risotto (risotto with squid ink) as appetizer and was amazing. I like the black risotto more than the the Grandpa’s Pan. Definitely will be back here if I go back to Zagreb.

This place was recommended to us by a local person. We could not be happier really.
The food was traditional and wonderfully tasty.
We tried ustipci, soparnik pljeskavica, babina tava and the mixed grill. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very authentic (appreciating the music was quiet enough to allow for a nice conversation too).
Highly, highly recommended.

It's so nice to return here after 5 years and find that nothing has changed. I had the same meal I had back in 2018, the classic "Grandpa's Pan" washed down with a half litre of the house red. Lovely

I loved this place, unfortunately only discovered it on my last day. Away from the mainstream tourist area a little way back in the upper town. Well worth the visit. Try "Grandpa's Pan" a house specialty, mixture of meats, roasted vegetables and potatoes, wash it down with half a litre of Croatian red and perfect meal. Nice to sit at tables outside.

The food was perfect and was very interesting to be surprised on how good everything was at each different course. For appetisers we had home made bread and the creamy cow cheese, they were delicious and combined very well. For the main course we had the pork loin filled with cheese and wrapped in bacon, it was divine. For the dessert we had the flan with creme brûlée, an honest ending for this delight that was our dinner. The service was ok, mostly because one of the waiters was very attentive, polite and professional and the other seemed liked it was a burden to have us without a reservation but the overall experience was 5 stars and would be unfair to decrease one star for this perception of mine. Our check was 440 kuna including drinks, which was a very fair price in my opinion.

Excellent; highly recommend! Our meal was outstanding. Very fresh and excellent ingredients. Nothing over the top fancy but very true to the main ingredient and herbs and spices to accentuate and season it. We did not make a reservation and the small place was fully booked so they offered us a table for an hour and then proceeded to serve us quickly without making us feel rushed. We have already talked to them about going back before our holiday is over.

We had a wonderful night in this family-owned place. Simple and delicious food, wonderful environment, but above anything else warm and extremely hospitable stuff. The owner of the place was so kind to get in the car for fifteen minutes drive to get us something that we needed. Thank you guys, you have given new meaning for the word hospitality.❤
