Lopatica aka "Konoba Beban"

The place is a dream. We stayed here one week, eating each day marvellous food. The owner and his family are amazing, every morning they bake bread for all guest. Nice people, do not trust the previous reviews, they deserve all the 5 stars.

Authentic, quaint restaurant on the water. Arrived with 7.5m motor boat and we were welcomed to moor inside the marina right next to the restaurant. Restaurant vibe and the friendly and accommodating staff were great. Ate the lamb from the island and some seafood which was nice. Great mountain/hill and island hikes from this location. Slept the night in the Marina after dinner.

Many thanks to this place and the nice people. We were on a sailing trip in June kind of early season once the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted. When we had a brief look at this place we first wanted to continue to Piccolo (another restaurant on another island) and were so sorry to see the owner waving for us to stop by. So we returned and it was just beautiful. Food is more expensive, but good. We ordered a fish plate, vegetables, three steaks, some side dishes and lots of wine. Especially the steaks were extraordinary so we ordered three more. In the end we paid like 3.000 Kuna for 6 people. Will definitely come back again in August.

This place is the best known for its mutton, cooked in traditional Peka style and also boiled (maybe even better boiled if you ask me). Also try their Brudet - this is a fish stew - or octopus cooked under a Peka (really good). In any case a great combination of meat and fish on the menu.

The staff is also nice and friendly. Some comments say that they seemed rude. But I know them for a long time and actually they are very generous and nice people. I am Croatian and as a tip for all tourists that come there: 1) do not be picky about water and electricity for your boat (it’s a deserted island and there is no water and free electricity - for that go to Piskera) 2) the fee that you have to pay extra for the national park is if you stay at their dock - it was not there before and now they have to charge it because of new regulations 3) treat the “toughness” of the locals as part of their mentality (it’s a cultural experience ;)) or the so called “dišpet” 4) do not order cevapcici :) 5) ask what they have fresh if you go for fish (*but calamari and octopus is also great if frozen ** mutton is always from the island)

If you stay there for longer going for a hike up the mountain in great - excellent views.

If you want a taste and feel of old mediterenean sea life and fresh sea food this is the place to go.Enjoy breakfast,lunch or dinner in this georgeous rustic restaurant with spacious terrace, marine decor and excellent food. Try octopus salad, tuna prosciutto,fresh 1st class fish, scampi, world famous lamb under the bell, homemade bread and so much more. This is a true vacation for soul and mind (and your belly 😊)

Do un giudizio complessivo. Il posto è meraviglioso, un sogno! Acqua cristallina, comodo per fermarsi la notte con la barca a vela. La cucina ci ha servito del pesce favoloso con un conto un po' salato (€75 a testa) ma considerato il contesto e la bellezza del luogo mi sento di dare il voto più alto possibile. Ti resta nel cuore. Ich verstehe die niedrige Bewertung nicht. Die Fische sind frisch und sehr lecker. Die Küche ist traditionell, ein Muss zum Probieren wenn man an der kroatischen Küste Ferien macht.

U sklopu tečaja jedrenja, škole jedrenja ANA, proveli smo krasnu večer i noć, sigurno vezani ispred restorana Beban u srcu Kornata.
Večerali smo u restoranu. Hrana je bila odlična, atmosfera i posluga zaslužuju sve pohvale.

Prekrasna uvala, vrhunska hrana, odlična usluga! Konoba Beban je mjesto koje se MORA posjetiti prilikom dolaska na Kornate! Cijene su izuzetno prihvatljive (niže nego na kopnu)! Sve preporuke!

Noi passiamo sempre in questa Konoba famigliare perché oltre ad essere un posto paradisiaco si mangia da Dio, sempre pane caldo , pesce e ogni tipo di carne cucinata alla grande ! Insomma : fermatevi e godete !
