Saint Ilija

Beautiful place with sight of Boka bay. On one side you can see Croatia and on the other side you can see Montenegro. You can also make a barbecue here next to the church. Church is always open and you can visit at any time. We left our car about 1,2km from church and we walked to the top of the hill. The walk is easy and for everyone so it's beautiful place to visit with your family or friends. It's very close to city of Herceg Novi so it's easy to go here and you don't need a lot of preparation. Whenever you decide to go there as long as the weather is ok you can go. Don't miss this place if you visit Herceg Novi. 😊

Excellent location to obtain awesome views of Boka Bay and the most southern part of the Croatian coastline.
The church is usually open each day (on good weather) so you can enjoy the ancient frescos inside.
The road to the church is very rough for the last 1/4 so no sports cars here.... a sedan can do it if it is on a good day (not muddy)
There is also a clearly marked hiking path available all the way from the main road and you can join the path from where the road becomes rough if you don't feel that your car can handle it.
Take water, coffee etc.. and something to eat so you can spend some time at the top of the hill to soak up the quietness and awesome views.

Magnificent place, unbelievable views over the Adriatic open sea and the bay of Kotor! The road to the church is disaster, but it’s worth going there.

Beautiful little church on the top of the hill. The walk from Igalo up there is worth the trip. The completely different countryside scenery, goats, cows, grass field, villagers, all are so refreshing. The panoramic view at the top is gorgeous too, one side being Montenegro, while the other is Croatia already. Definitely will go back up there again.

Nice old church of St. Ilija. Breathtaking viewpoint right on the border of Montenegro and Croatia. Sundown is amazing there.

An excellent place to visit for the breathtaking sightseeing and history. Driving there can be difficult. People should take their garbage back with them as well to make sure the site is enjoyable by everyone

Очень красивое место! Доехала на Polo до самого верха, то есть если у вас есть опыт внедорожной езды - доехать можно, низкая машина спокойно проходит, просто нужно внимательно ехать, так как дорога каменная и разбита, ну либо пешком. Наверху никого нет, церквушка открыта - просто нужно открыть дверь)) Внутри есть свеи и крестики, рядом с ними касса - оплатили, взяли свечи, там же зажигалка лежит и можно пойти поставить их снаружи церквушки с пециально отведённом месте. Перед церковью открытвается супер вид и на Хорватию, и на Черногорию в 2 стороны. Место стоящее.

милая часовня на гребне, разделяющем Черногорию и Хорватию. можно поставить свечку, помолиться, купить местные чётки (если вы верующий и для вас это важно); в часовне, как я понял, никого нет. так что всё на "честном слове". со стороны хорватии - открытое море, вид медитативный. со стороны черногории - бухта городка Херцег нови, изящно. подъезд со стороны черногории, дорога местами разбитая. на скутере ехал с осторожностью. также на этой точке располагается памятник французским солдатам.

Lijepa crkvica, lijep vidikovac, cesta.. ne bas tolko, moze se autom do vrha ali nije bas.. preporučljivo, bolje stati 1km od cilja pa prosetati. Lijep vidikovac i na herceg novi i prema hrvatskoj. Avantura do gore, serpetine na najjace. 😃😃
