Did coffee farm tour with our guide, Javier. He is very knowledgeable. Did a short hike to rain forest and observed the coffee plants along the way. He explained the history, 2 different types of plants in the farm, and the different methods of cleaning, fermentation, drying, and roasting. The cafeteria is wonderful with outdoor dining areas and the Welch's brand coffee beans for purchase.

Come here if you love coffee and want to impress your friends with your new knowledge of the growing process. Everything about the coffee tour was wonderful: the excursion to the top of the trails, the view of the coffee crops and other resident flora like cardamom and achiote, the roasting plant, and the coffee lab. The three-course meal at the restaurant by the waterfall was exquisite. The best part was actually our guide Javier, whose passion for coffee oozes through his pores. We will be back.

By all means a MUST when visiting Copán Ruinas. At the Hotel Marina Copán we were provided with the number to arrange the reservation. The girl, Camila, was extremely attentive and followed up our inquiry promptly. Tour price per person is $35, includes mini bus ride from Copán Ruinas to San Jerónimo (32kms), coffee plantation tour and a typical meal in the restaurant in the midst of the mountain.
Javier, the guide, was extremely knowledgeable, child friendly (we had 2 very inquisitive 8 year old boys in the group) and very attentive to all our questions. He shared so many nuggets of information, truly showed his passion for coffee.
This tour really makes you appreciate all the work put into making a cup of coffee.
Coffee harvest season is from November thru March, so if you want to see the whole process in action, it becomes even more interesting and for a fair price, you can also participate in the harvest. Sounds like a plan, to come back in that time to enjoy it even more!

We took part in a tour, which started at the very top of the Hill between the coffee plants. Javier was our guide and I cant stress enough what a excellent one he is. He explained the whole story (from soil quality, different coffee plant breeds to the harvesting, washing, drying, quality controll process and finally the roasting of the beans) bilingual in spanish and english. He answered a lot of questions very detailled and always friendly. Finally the tour ended with a coffee cupping, which was my first time. Really informative and amazing different flavours.
Thanks for the perfect day at your finca.

A beautiful local farm, with interesting tours and quality coffee! Our guide was friendly and informative, and lunch on a stream was especially nice.

3 great experiences in one: a walk through a mountainous forest to see birds, cross a (strong) rope bridge, and then arrive at a restaurant by a waterfall with beautiful food, and finally (and throughout) the tour of the plantation and the history of coffee, its production by hugely knowledgeable guides. Amazing experience. Very highly recommended - easily half a day for all of the above.
