I popped into Gaby’s music shop in the morning and was able to arrange an hour’s marimba tuition at their sister school in the city that afternoon. My teacher introduced me to the technique used on Guatemala’s national instrument and then we were well away learning by ear one of the most famous songs played on the Marimba. I had a really fun time with a very patient and adept teacher who quickly assessed my needs and tailored the lesson appropriately. You can choose to have a series of lessons, lessons in a group and on a variety of instruments. Highly recommended.
