Nice place to sit down and watching street life in the center of Antigua. Nice views.

Nice spot close to the central park. Interesting history as well because this used to be a community laundry where local women washed their clothes.

I love this place. Just imagine a couple dozen people washing their panties and socks together. It could be a lot of fun talking, laughing, screaming and washing. The water could get really dirty. But anyway, the structure is in a very good shape and looks pretty.

I love to see there is still a place when locals can do laundry together and gossip about the news in town. The guide told me before Covid it is a happening place daily, now let’s hope the ladies will be back in full force soon!

Wandered across this park in Antigua, a little peace from some of the surrounding action. Park, water source and some structure, that turned out to be where Mayan families would come to do their laundry. Today, it’s a source of water for some of the town doggos that need a drink, if there is someone friendly enough to help them (which there ALWAYS are). Looking for a quick break, this is the spot.

One of my favourite spots in Antigua. Little square where local Mayan ladies wash their clothes in the carved out laundry tubs. Families and friends gather on benches and on the grass to rest and relax. In front of the Santa Clara ruins (unfortunately closed to public due to covid restrictions). Very picturesque!

Tanque as the locals call it is the town laundry where Mayan ladies can be seen doing laundry as they have for centuries. It is easy to find a short walk from Parque Central. It's across from the Santa Clara ruins and has a small park attached to it where people meet to laze on the grass, do yoga and feed the pigeons while children play. It's a beautiful little spot with a great pizzeria right next to it on the corner where you can grab a slice. It's free and surrounded by life, churches, ruins and great food. There are street food vendors there every day serving delicious tacos and Guatemalan food very cheap. At night it's all lit up and gorgeous.

Quieter than the main central park. Better views of the volcanoes. Go to the Snug for Sunday lunch - it's very good.

It's a park, it's interesting...in the past, this was were they washed clothes. I always see a group of people doing yoga here.

Great place for views of Fuego, Acatenango, and Agua and you can take great pictures through the arches. Quieter than the Parque Central, though there are still pigeons and a few street vendors.

Lovely antique structure still used today for local people to wash clothing. It is set on one end of a pretty landscaped park with benches, green grass, and flowers. Locals and tourists gather here.

Heard about this place on a city your and had to try the chiliquiles for lunch. Service was good and the food was yummy. Will go back later in the day for the true Irish Pub experience.
