Es municipio del departamento de Chimaltenango, tierra de donde se saca el puro barro y se hace el famoso ladrillo, labrado a mano y cocido en un horno de adobe, hay varias fabricas como por ejemplo Helados Sarita, BImbo de Centroamérica, Inapsa, Tierra fría entre otras, por hoy su mayor comercio el la venta de carros puedes venir al tejar y parte de Chimaltenango y encontrarás de todo tipo de carro lo bueno de todo es que puedes regatear.
