I love their zucchini bread. She only makes two loaves a day, so I went early to make sure I can buy a loaf to enjoy the rest of my trip. One loaf lasts me nearly a week. Also the salad is awesome. Huge portion and so deliciously filling. I got mine with chickpeas.

We enjoyed our chicken tacos! Healthy clean & tasty. The kombucha is house made, a bit sweet but still enjoyable.

Good coffee and very delicious food with good portion sizes. You can double up your espresso shot at no extra cost. The server was really friendly. Prices are affordable and normal for Xela.

The dining patio is quiet and charming. It has the perfect mix of sun and shade. The staff is attentive without being overbearing and the food/drinks come out quickly. The consistency of the smoothies are perfect. Not too thick and not too thin. The say they don’t have added sugar and are the perfect level of sweetness. The food is simple, healthy and delicious. I went three days in a row when I was in Xela and I already miss it.

I love Mandarina! The staff and food are wonderful. I have various breakfast items, salads and other traditional foods. All natural and great vegetarian and vegan options. They have great, healthy options for every meal and they serve breakfast all day. They make many take home foods in house too, including bakery items, kombucha, granola and hot sauce. Plus, it’s a great place to enjoy, quiet, covered, outdoor tables. Mandarina the founder is wonderful and so is her staff, many of whom she has made co-owners as well!

Magnificent place. Exactly what I was looking for. Off the beaten track — which is to say, away from the noisy, smoke-chugging traffic — in a lovely quiet little courtyard with lovely non-intrusive music. Really friendly staff, really amazing smoothies. I haven't tried the food yet but I'll be back. Oh, and great wifi. No booze though, so if that's what you're after, go elsewhere.

We became regulars at mandarina during our stay in xela, the owners Alyce and Mandarina are both really friendly, the cafe is in a relaxed courtyard setting popular with locals and travellers alike. It's perfect for sipping a fresh coffee or smoothie and indulging in a delicious breakfast. My favourites included the smoothie bowl, and bagel no. 2 the roasted tomatoes are sensational add them to anything! I would also recommend the salads, they are good portion sizes packed with fresh ingredients - just what we needed to boost our vitamin levels!

Cafe Mandarina has been a mainstay during my time here in Xela. The food is INCREDIBLE (try the bagel!), I looove the smoothies, and there white chocolate caramel cookie is one of the best cookies I’ve ever had!! Plus, the prices are great and Esdra and Mandarina are the sweetest 🥰. Come support this cafe!

Yay for gluten free and dairy free options! This place is great for vegans and vegetarians, but if you eat meat, they also have chicken options. My boyfriend loved the Greek chicken tacos.

I appreciated being able to order a sandwich with gluten free bread and I LOVED the chocolate-banana coconut milk shake and decadent hot chocolate (vegan) I had there. The staff is kind and one woman went out of her way to explain her dog rescue organization to me.

It’s a very COVID-friendly spot because the tables are outdoors. We were there twice when it rained and we were able to be under cover.

Note: This *seems* to be place where lots of expats hang but younger locals as well. Cash only.

Best breakfasts in town! The beet smoothie makes my day at least twice a week, and I couldn't believe how fantastic a chicken salad can be!

Instead of cold cubed bits of chicken like I would expect anywhere else, I got a freshly grilled and seared addition to a delicious salad over-flowing with eggs and avocado!

Breakfast, eggs, smoothies, and salads that will be the highlight of your day :)

Great patio dining with lots of gluten free and vegan options clearly marked on the extensive menu. Staff speak English. Massage, acupuncture and chiropractic practice on site. Highly recommend! Asian style chicken tacos were delicious.

LOOOOVE this Aussie owned place. If you're craving a salad, or a decent breakfast that reminds you of home, this is your place!!!

The best things are:
- The small but amazing garden with lots of shade, perfect for studying.
- the owners speak English & Spanish.
- milk alternatives options!! Including coconut milk

To improve:
- longer opening hours
- higher table with stools

One of my favorite places in Xela. I came
Many times. Wonderful people who work there, very neighborhood family vibe. Cozy seating. Patio seating. Lovely friendly dogs that they rescue.

Food and coffee were wonderful. Salad was huge and delightful, lots of veges. Amazing homemade sauces. Create your own, choose your ingredients type of thing. Also had a wrap with tempeh, avocado and greens in a carrot, turmeric wrap. Was really good. The breakfast avocado toast and mushrooms was good but not spectacular.

Coffee came in big cups and was super good. They also have almond and coconut milk.

Almost everything is vegan friendly.

Also, vegan popsicles and baked goods!
