What a fantastic find! The food is exquisite, the ambiance warm and conducive to conversation, and the service wonderful. Our entire meal was excellent—the escargot and minestrone soup were the best we’ve had! And the chocolate mousse paired with fresh orange, was delectable.
If you are looking for exceptional food, owners Pascal and Noe will deliver a great experience in their own home. Pascal is French and Chef Noe from Guatemala with 15 years experience cooking for haut cuisine restaurants in France. The restaurant is open Friday to Sunday. Ample street parking. Reservations recommended. Thank you Pascal and Noe! We’ll see you again soon!

Lovely meal, especially the salmon. Great minestrone as well. The owner was warm and welcoming. Wonderful find just south of the main city.

This is a real gem to find in a town filled with mediocre restaurants. Well worth visiting!
el Rincon del Conquistador is a real gem of a restaurant here in Antigua, a town filled with way too many mediocre restaurant.
We visited this Friday evening and were amazed at how good the food was.
We started with the Camembert appetizer. What a wonderful combination with the plum chutney!
My wife had salmon and I had a steak. Both were prepared just right, not overcooked and the spices that were used were amazing. Tonight they had a special with mushrooms (chanterelle?) that was a delight to my taste buds.
For the steak they were prepared in a reduction that gave it an incredible flavor. This isn't your USA steak house style....it was delicate, full of well balanced flavors and paired perfectly with the steak.
For my wife's Salmon, they were prepared in a different style, again, a perfect pairing for the fish. It is obvious that the chef takes the time to choose components to the meal to complement each other and then prepares them exquisitely.
We asked the maitre'd for a recommendation for a bottle of wine (they have a nice selection of French wines at reasonable restaurant prices (Q 200-250 range) and were very pleased with the Bordeaux he recommended. It paired nicely with our meal (Normally we'd only drink a glass or two but we finished the bottle!)
Desert was a nougat glace that was slightly sweet, slightly tart and an amazing way to clean our palate at the end of the meal. My wife and I were fighting over who would lick the plate clean!
If you live in (or visit) Antigua, you will know there are hundreds of terrible or mediocre restaurants and only a few gems like this. (How the terrible ones get such high ratings is beyond me)
Take the time to take a 5 minute ride outside of Central Antigua to visit this place.
The neighborhood is SAFE (I live only a block away) and the food worth the journey.

The Antigua Gourmet Club had about 12 of its members participate in a dinner at this restaurant last night. The entry choices were Coq au vin, duck, dorado and a vegetarian risotto. All the participants were very pleased and the service was excellent. We complement the owner manager, Pascal and the Chef, Noah. We had a very nice time.

The environment, service and food were excellent. The checks could have been handled a bit more quickly so over all 4 1/2 stars.
