First time visiting this ruins and was quite impressed with how well the ruins that remain are preserved. There wasn't a lot to see but it is an interesting place due to its historical significance. It was very pleasant to wander around the grounds imagining what this place looked like when it was bustling place 500 years ago. Would recommend spending and hour or two if you're in the area.

We had a wonderful guide, Alex, who shared with us information about his culture and the history of his people who lived at Iximche when it was the capital city of the Maya. We also had the privilege of watching a fire ceremony taking place in the ceremonial plaza.

Nice ruins. It's the first ruin that i visited in Guatemala so nothing to compare it to. I suggest making this apart of your itinerary if are near Antigua or Lake Atitlan. We visited three tourist attractions in one day. This was definitely worth seeing. A great road trip.

A nice little step back into the history of Guatemala. It’s a nice site, nothing like Tikal but definitely nice in its own way! We were driving to Antigua from Xela and it was a nice break for the legs and not too expensive. It is worth the stop at least once. I was here 15 years ago and it’s still beautiful.

These Maya ruins are well worth the 50 q entrance fee to view and explore. My visit exceeded expectations. The ball court was excellent. The museum was interesting and gave some context for the ruins.

Good place to visit. Serine. Close to Tecpán. Easy access to parking. Restaurants nearby the main road. Can see the ceremonial place and living culture of the Maya. Good place for large groups.

The archeological site of Iximche is located near the town of Tecpan about an hour's drive from Antigua Guatemala. The price of admission is 50 Q for foreigners. There are no guides available as far as I saw. Inside you'll find a small museum, which is currently closed due to the pandemic, some vendor stalls, but not too many, and all outside the actual park, and very serviceable restrooms. The site itself is composed of four consecutive plazas that have been excavated to various degrees. Generally, as you head further away from the entrance the less reconstructed the structures. As far as the structures that are there, they are well looked after with closely cropped lawns and well-maintained buildings. At the very end of the site, there is a small pyramid used by the modern Maya to make offerings and sacrifices of incents and alcohol.

I really enjoyed these ruins as a day trip from Panajachel! I was expecting much less, but they were really well kept and intact. There's also a place for Mayan offerings at the opposite end.

To get there from Panajachel: take a chicken bus from nearby the La Torre supermarket/gas station heading to Sololá for Q5. From Sololá, take another chicken bus to Encuentros for Q3-4 (I got charged Q4 on the way and Q3.50 return, but it's Q3 for locals). From Los Encuentros, take another chicken bus to Tecpán. This ride is on the windiest road, so prepare to hold on tight and slide back and forth the whole hour. I paid Q15 there and Q20 return, not sure what the local price is for this one.

Then from Tecpán, you can walk about 10-15 minutes to the central plaza. There's a church near it, but I had a difficult time finding it. A panaderia worker pointed me in the right direction. From the central plaza you take a smaller collectivo that says RUINAS on the window. This is Q3, or Q5 if you don't have 3 coins left like I didn't on the return 🙃 The whole trip is about 2 hours from Pana to the ruins, so don't let the amount of bus changes intimidate you! I found it worth it!

The site is small, but of historic relevance. It's well kept. Entrance bathrooms a clean. Short drive from Guatemala city.

Book a guide on site to understand the history and what the buildings are.

Really nice place to visit. It isn't very large, the temples are smallish and a bit in rough shape but nevertheless it's worth the 50q to enter and experience it, as it's not well trafficked by foreigners but yes by locals

I hadn't expected that was really great. The experience was great because the ruins are very well maintained and this national park is very peaceful and beautiful. We were lucky because one tour guide accompanied us and explained so well. We enjoyed the short tour very much!
If to go there, I recommend you to ask the for tour guide.

Cute little ruins. The place is cozy, great for a short walk to get some fresh air. The entrance ticket is super cheap and you get too see some authentic Mayan rituals at times. Not too crowded, close to restaurants and the highway. Nice place to visit if you’re in Tecpan.

Cool place. Paid a few bucks for a guide to take us around. Saw a Mayan ceremony. They sacrificed a duck and burnt it along with food as an offering to the gods.

Wonderful history. We had a guide, Alex. He was extremely informative and personable. Well worth the $$. Otherwise it's just a lot of rocks. We were graced to get to watch an actual religious ceremony!

This place is amazing, not too crowded and not very small. The plant of the constructions are very well preserved and the park is very clean and maintained.

This is an extremely interesting Mayan archaeological site that dates from about 1460. There are three pyramids along with a ceremonial site and some ball courts. Well worth visiting. One recommendation is to visit with a guide that speaks your native language if you don't understand Spanish.

There is a small museum that you should see first before entering the ruin area. The grounds are full of ruins and information. Be mindful and respectful of any ongoing rituals.

If you're looking for large temples this is not the place for you. If you're looking for culture, history and to feel reconnected with nature then its definitely worth the drive. Had a beautiful and peaceful stroll through the grounds on a quiet weekday morning. The museum, although small, had very interesting artifacts and information.

Loved it, take in to account that no food is allowed inside the park, and no food is sold outside, bathrooms are reasonably maintained, and there is free parking
