First place we ate in Guatemala! We came during breakfast, first guest!

Authentic food made with tradition and love. Centrally located in Antigua.

We Actually came too early to see the show. They didn’t have their stews out in pots as they were just opening. But we were seated in their nice courtyard.

First meal in Guatemala was the Pepian. It was hearty and delicious. I washed that down with a nice cold Gallo and I was officially eating traditional Guatemalan food.

I loved hearing the smacking sound of the tortillas being made in the back.

I Never had such fresh authentic corn tortillas. Fortunately this would be a theme for the rest of my trip.

Service was great, attentive and friendly.

Definitely would be come back again. I want to see all the stews out!

The best place for traditional local cuisine with that signature Antigua atmosphere.

We shared a "Formal Plate" with an extra serving of tortillas, and it was a perfect amount of food for two hungry people. Our waiter was extremely helpful, considering we are in the early stages of learning Spanish. His recommendations were delicious.

A restaurant offering delicious local cuisine just a few blocks away from the center is definitely a great find. The proximity to the city center is a plus, making it convenient for both locals and visitors. The availability of authentic, tasty, and locally inspired dishes adds to the charm of this restaurant. The combination of great food and a central location makes it a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts and tourists alike.
ADVICE!!!! know that the restaurant is popular and tends to fill up quickly. Arriving early with plenty of time to spare ensures you can savor your meal without feeling rushed. It also adds to the overall dining experience, allowing you to enjoy the ambiance and savor each dish leisurely. Restaurant closes at 6pm

Loved our experience here and ended up SO full from lunch that we didn't have dinner! Paid roughly 90Q per person. My partner tried the more traditional main dish and two sides and loved it. I'm vegetarian and they happily and easily accomodated -- I got 5 veggie-friendly dishes and two sides (pic attached), and everything was truly delicious! It was awesome to learn a lot of the recipes are very traditional and have been made with love for a long time. A truly lovely experience!

We made an immediate stop after seeing and smelling the food. Pick an entree and two sides up front and they'll get you seated. Pay afterward. Way more corn tortillas than I was used to and we ate the ALL.

The lighting in the back seating area could be different.

A MUST visit. The food and drink is local and delicious. You can get the food to go or dine in the pretty and natural patio. Prices are good and staff is very kind. Tortillas provided for dine-in.

I recommend it to try traditional food. Portions are large. Fast service. However, it's probably a little bit overprice.

Really good meal! You can choose one big main dish or two medium ones, plus two sides. Very fair price considering the city's market rates. Great flavors, and very filling.
All for about 92Q or so, including tip!

I ate here twice while in Antigua. Once for lunch and once for breakfast. You can view the stews upon entry and choose from a variety of sides, I really liked the pickled beet and cabbage slaw, and the pickled bean salad. There is also table service where there is a menu you can pick from.

Came here for lunch with my family and everything we got tasted great and was in large, well-priced portions. They were also able to accommodate us well as a larger group.

Interesting experience - you can see and select your food on the way in. The typical meal is a stew with a couple sides. Inside there are a few rooms with filtered light and plants. Quite serene. Tasty stew, bottomless coffee, and a side of peppers and onions.

Absolutely delicious.
As you can see this place has so many different choices it’s insane. There’s several types of chicken, pork, and beef soups. Some are mixed, some are simple, but they are are sooooo flavorful.
We got the chicken noodle soup, chicken and garbanzo beans soup, chicharrón and beans soup (crispy pork skin), and a mixed stew (chicken, beef, and pork). All these meals were on point. So much flavor.
Staff is super nice, place is clean, service is excellent and prices are adequate.
A must if visiting.

Great restaurant with traditional food and nice hidden garden full of shade and flowers. They make various fresh food in several pots everyday and you can mix and match your own plate - we've tried traditional Pepián (on the photo).

Though it’s a bit more pricey than other really local food (I paid 89q for a typical dinner that includes a choice of smallish portions of two main dishes and two sides), the recipes are authentic and flavorful and it’s cool to be able to pick several different things from the big spread of beautiful bubbling pots.

Not even the Santo Domingo brunch can beat this place. Seriously one of the best meals we had in antigua. Made by locals with such care and fresh ingredients. The service was amazing and the food was perfectly cooked. Great place to try local cuisine.

The food is amazing and with local flavors. The menu is a buffer where you can choose a protein and two complements like vegetables, rice or pasta. There are options of adicional desserts and complements. The service is very attentive.

Wow!!! What a memorable experience. This is THE place to go in Antigua to try all types of typical Guatemalan cuisine. The selection is so big and you get so much food for a great price. We had so much stew, meat, rellenitos, vegetables and more! The staff was so incredibly friendly as well. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their huge menu. The rooftop terrace offers amazing views of the city as well! This is a MUST VISIT!!!!!
