Arati Café

Coffee was as good as people say it is. Food was the same as most of the rest of San Marcos- simple. One of the workers was very cool and explained the complexity of coffee production and Arati's place in the circle. Definitely a highlight. Must visit for heavy coffee drinkers like myself.

One thing I will say and this can be a negative, positive, or neutral thing for you- it definitely draws in a lot of hippie types. I didn't mind at all since they all seemed friendly and chill, but I figured I'd just mention.

Great coffee and the owner is not only very knowledgeable about coffee but also eager to share with his customers! For specialty filter methods he'll take time to come to your table and guide you through the whole brewing process :) definitely recommend for coffee lovers.

Best coffee in San Marcos if not the whole the lake. Selvin and his brother are good friends of mine and they create a fun and loving vibe for the whole community. it's my morning go to for the local hang out and chill.

Didn't eat here but the coffee was great, barista took time to pour my chemex right in front of me and was really food at explaining the coffee process and taste profile, super interesting. Partner had a smoothie which he also enjoyed. Very attentive service and good spot for people watching. thank you !

Locals say this is the best coffee but i had an amazing juice- cardamom, apple, kale, cucumber. The juices are freshly made and so good. May have to wait a bit but its worth it.

The best cafe in town with the most friendliest and happiest local baristas and workers around. The sofas invite you to relax and the food is cheap and good too. They've got amazing smoothies and juices too and my favourite coffee beans in the area. I do have coffee in my place but I still have the urge to get at least once a day to arati café just for the amazing taste and the good vibes there!

This is the best coffee experience I’ve ever had. The owner is amazing and really passionate about coffee and his craft. If it’s something you’re into he can explain all the different techniques, flavor profiles, etc. The coffee is amazing. I would recommend both their lattes and specialty coffees.

Might be one of the best flat whites I’ve ever had. They make it RIGHTTT. I like to order flat whites because they are suppose to have less milk than cappuccinos and they really let the espresso flavor shine. And this flat white was perfect. Perfect amount of milk to espresso ratio, and the espresso tasted divine.

Absolutely loved spending time here. Started with a coffee, then met so many interesting people that we ended up staying for lunch. Selvin, the owner’s love of coffee and people really shines through. This is definitely a hub for good food and chat.

Best shot of espresso on the lake… so far…maybe the best I’ve ever had. The barista knew what he was doing with the shot and explained everything to me. Also beans from his own land.

A specialy coffee shop! Stopped by after a sunrise hike. From the outside it looks like a store front for now! The magic is happening behind the scenes for a new location. Come anyway!!!

An extraordinarily knowledgeable, skilled and passionate barista, always looking to enhance. It's a chilled, happy place to hang out in the village and has great smoothies, juices and typical Mayan food for lunch and breakfast

Best coffee in town. Young local guy has trained in Costa Rica and other spots and will make you a legit espresso drink or something even fancier. Good breakfasts and juices, too.

Hands down one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had. Owner Selvin is a really good man works hard and knows a lot about the area. 10/10 recommend!

Wish I could give more than 5 stars! Absolutely the best coffee probably around all of Lake Atitlan. Owner is a certified trained barista and produces his own coffee! Beyond knowledgeable and can answer any coffee question you may have and make the coffee of your dreams. Thanks for your wisdom and a lovely cortado :)
