Pacific Fins Resort

We visited Pacific Fins in January and cannot say enough good things about this group. Every part of this fishing trip, from arrival to departure, was hands down the best we have ever experienced. The resort staff, the captain and crew, the ground transportation and the pilot all provided what we agreed was nothing but five star service. It is hard to articulate to people just what an amazing experience this was. Everyone in our party are big anglers and never imagined we would catch as many fish as we did in three days. I want to thank Ozzy and all of the employees of Pacific Fins for your hospitality and professionalism. We will definitely be back and likely with a larger group.

Pacific Fins exceeded our expectations in all ways! The fishing was exceptional every day and the captain and crew members on the boat worked tirelessly to keep us hooked up! We caught over 30 sailfish each day along with many mahi mahi and even a few rooster fish. On the boat they prepared fresh guacamole, ceviche and sashimi...delicious! The resort was beautiful and peaceful. All of the staff at Pacific Fins were very helpful and accommodating keeping the meals, snacks & beverages flowing along with an impeccably clean property and immaculate rooms. Joel was an incredible host at Pacific Fins making sure our entire experience was excellent. And if you have a chance to take the private plane I would highly recommend the experience. If you are looking for an epic pacific fishing experience in a beautiful location Pacific Fins is a must!!

Our Troop stayed here to have the ultimate high adventure experience and it did not disappoint. The hotel was so accommodating to all of our needs including transportation to and from the airport, laundry service, all-inclusive food and beverage service, arranging excursions and even transportation to excursions, and of course the ultimate fishing experience! Staff were incredible and greeted us each day with fresh fruit and a tropical cocktail. Our troop caught sailfish and even a 400lb marlin. Would highly recommend! Some of our excursions included hiking a volcano, deep sea charter fishing, and touring the historic city of Antigua.

Stayed at Pacific Fins Resorts a week ago. Our group have fished at many fishing lodges in Mexico and Central America (including Tropic Star, Crocodile Bay, etc.). People have questioned the safety of Guatemala. We were with our guides throughout our trip in Guatemala. Never felt that safety was an issue throughout our trip. The staff at Pacific Fins Resort are the best I've had when compared to the one's that I listed. Our group arrived early, around noon, the day before we were to start fishing. The staff went out of their way to serve us appetizers, drinks and even offered us lunch. Kudo's to the manager Joel, and his staff Franklin, Julio, Edgar, Glendy Johanna and Patty.

Fishing was arranged by another manager Rosendo. We fished on two separate boats: Gypsy and Checho. Captains Carlos and Jimmy and crew Ricardo, Emilian, Nelson and Eddie are excellent. Our boat of three caught 19 sailfish one day and 21 the next. Handful of dorado and bonito. The crew also had a Go Pro which they took pictures of us. Those photos are complimentary and make sure they take as many as they would like. Those are very memorable.

A beautiful, resort fishing lodge. Managers Joel and Rosendo run a tight outfit. The staff, Franklin, Julio and Edgar serve you. The ladies Glendy, Johanna & Patti have the delicious foods ready for you. They make you feel like family. The boats; Gypsy Captain Jimmy with crew Eddy and Nelson, Checho Capitan Carlos and crew Ricardo and Emilian, were the best. They never stopped working. Everyone at the resort was very attentive and courteous. It has to be one of the top fishing resorts that we have ever visited and we have been taking fishing trips every year for 20 years. We will definitely come back to this resort.

A big kudos to Chris Atkin of Central America Fishing for recommending Pacific Fins / Guatemala and putting our group package together. You did a stellar job!

I wanted to take the time to let you know what a great time we had at Pacific Fins. The staff at the resort was outstanding. Joel, Rosendo, Patty and Glandie made us feel like repeat established clients even though it was our first time. Santiago drove us from the airport to Antigua and knew so much history it was like we had our own personal guide. And then I feel feel like we hit the jackpot with Captain Jimmi and the crew on Gypsy(Ellison and Nelson). We were able to catch a Blue Marlin. Holy Cow. We probably caught a thousand pounds of mahi. Took a family-style trip here over the summer and have to say it was one of the most amazing trips ever! Felt safe the entire time, staff was very attentive and made sure we were never hungry or thirsty and the fishing...world class. If you have an itch to explore, fish, eat and drink like royalty in Guatemala then this is the place for you!

Trouble - aka Problem

I came here with my father uncle and brother... and our "cursed" luck on charters... we almost always have terrible fishing.
We did far better than any of our expectations.
We caught 28 fish in 3 days, 18 of which were sailfish, including one 13-15 footer. That is on some of the rougher water they ever get here.
Everyone here considers that slow and very hard fishing.
Even better than the fishing, is the service. It's hard to overstate how great the entire staff is. Everyone is amazing!
They make you feel at home and seem like they are thrilled you are here.
A la cart meals whenever you want, and talented cooks.
Proper top shelf liquor all included... the stay was the best of any resort I have been to, fishing or otherwise.

This was an unforgettable experience! Pacific Fins knows exactly how to balance a fishing trip with class! The staff was superb! Rośendo one of the managers made this trip more memorable than I could have dreamed! He was so personable and went out of his way daily to make sure we were having the greatest time. Julío the bartender made drinks that you see in the movies. All the fruit carved to perfection! We were able to see the beautiful black sand beaches with a river cruise, fish for two days catching fish that are on most people’s bucket list including large Sailfish, huge Dorados, yellowfin tuna and so much more! Our Captain Jorgė with mates Andy and Alex were extremely attentive and hard working. The grounds at Pacific fins feel safe and have stunning views. Their menu for all meals was excellent. I can’t say enough great things about our trip here. We are beyond happy we came here and would recommend this trip for couples, families and large groups! They really go above and beyond to make your trip more memorable than you could imagine!

This trip was amazing. beautiful resort, great and very friendly staff with amazing food. I also can't say enough about the fishing. By far the best fishing vacation we have ever had. The captain and his crew are the best in the business, professionals to say the least. We landed 11 sails and 10 Mahi Mahi and this was slow for them. I also recommend the private plane, just another part of this exiting vacation.

Just had an amazing stay at Pacific Fins! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. But the best part was the fishing. The captain and the mates were awesome and put me on my first marlin ever and topped it off with my biggest mahi ever and multiple sailfish. What they called a “slow day of fishing” was my best day ever. Overall, an amazing experience that I would highly recommend. Thanks Pacific Fins for the trip of a lifetime!

We had an amazing experience at Pacific Fins. Everything was well coordinated and everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. Highlights included some of the best fishing we’ve experienced, fresh cooked mahi sandwiches onboard, and all food and drinks at the beautiful resort.

Food and Drink: food was plentiful and delicious. Some highlights were ceviche, mahi fingers, mahi carpaccio and chicken wings. On the boat, had three incredible fresh mahi lunches (tacos and sandwiches) with various sides. Breakfasts were very good; omelettes were our favorite.

Fishing: the crew of Gypsy was great. They worked hard to get us on fish given some difficult conditions (abnormally rough weather one day). They were a well oiled machine and we had a great time with them. The fresh cooked lunches were great, as well as the photos that the mates worked hard to capture for us.

Resort/ Staff: everyone at the resort was great and accommodating. Our suite was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the plentiful seating options around the pool and bar area, which were great for relaxing after a long day of fishing. The daily laundry service was perfect and allowed us to pack very light.

Logistics/ transportation: very well planned and executed. We flew from Guatemala City to Iztapa, which was a quick and very scenic flight over the volcanoes.

Overall, we would highly recommend Pacific Fins and plan to return next year. A+++

The resort staff are so professional and kind! They took care of everything you wanted or needed. The Know Work boat crew was a whole other level than I have been on before (I have been on a bunch of boats over the years). They went out of their way to make sure we were in the best spot and the right bait was out. Even took time to teach me how to use the fly rod. My final totals: 1 Blue Marlin, 34 Sail Fish (2 on the fly), 17 Dorado (2 on the fly), and 1 Yellow Fin Tuna

Wow, I Love It, I can't believe such a great service, the staff make you feel welcome starting with the manager to the bartender, the resort has a relaxed and beautiful atmosphere. The food was exceptional, you can't enjoy better fresh seafood than in this place. Fishing here was a unique experience, the organization and safety of the resort staff was excellent, specially in theses times. I travel a lot and this was my number #1 spot to relax and the best place to fishing. I will recommend 110%.

Attended the resort this Saint Patricks day week. From airport pickup, through arrival, meals, accommodations, fishing, and friendly knowledgeable staff, this was one first class experience. I traveled with repeat customers who made this their 7th visit as this was my 1st. As was treated as a vip as much as they were. Will be back

This was the best vacation by far not only is the resort beautiful and well-kept and the staff is amazing but the fishing was to die for.

Joel , Edgar and Franklin were amazing they took such great care of us attended to all our needs and the food was amazing kudos to the chef.

The crew of the Maverick were the bomb. Each day we fished we caught dolphin, sailfish, Yellow fin tuna and the last day we caught a marlin at least 300 lb. The crew also rescued a turtle that was wrapped up in rope so we had a humanitarian event as well. The crew from the captain Nesto, Alex and Jose were the best most well oiled machine I have ever seen.

I would highly recommend this trip to anybody and everybody and I will be back.

It is really a shame that the score only goes to 5 stars because this place is really a 10. An absolutely amazing experience brought together by an excellent staff and an amazing boat crew. There is not one single complaint I have about Pacific Fins. We were pulling sailfish, marlins, dorado (mahi) and tuna out of the water all over the place. The staff catered to our ever request and need. The food on shore and on the boat is easily some of the best I have ever had. The cocktails were equally as delicious. The boat crew knew exactly where to drop in to hook the fish. If you are looking for a true fishing experience that doesn’t compromise on comfort look no further than here. Will definitely be going back again and again!

Unbelievable trip! The hospitality at the resort is top notch! Wonderful food, great drinks and beautiful surroundings. The staff was very welcoming. The fishing was outstanding! I lost count of how many Sailfish we brought in, the fight is such an adrenaline rush! Always felt 100% safe. If you are considering a trip to Pacific Fins Guatemala.....BOOK IT!! You will love it!
