Casa Byron

Casa Byron was perfect for us. We appreciated Byron's attentiveness and recommendations. The views were beautiful, the walk to and from the pier was fine for two able-bodied adults. The tuk-tuk was a small adventure with our luggage, but the driver was an expert!

Casa de Byron is a lovely home with amazing views of the lake, made even better by the hospitality if the owner, Byron.

Myself, along with 4 other friends occupied the entire house for over 2 months during the start of the COVID pandemic. Even with the nightly curfew we all felt we had plenty of space to ourselves as well as ample access to the 2 separate kitchens. If we had any issues Byron was always readily available and super helpful - he even offered to gather us supplies from San Marcos when travel between towns was restricted or required a permit (because COVID, this isn't normally the case).

One thing I loved about staying here was Byron offering up different foods from his personal garden when we were limited on ingredients.

There are plenty of song birds that sing in the mornings and evenings which make this place feel magical. On the other hand, you can hear roosters and the engines from (what I'm told are) tortilla machines early in the morning. BUT, from my experience, this is the case throughout Tzununa and is usually short lived. Otherwise this place feels like a private oasis!

*I'm writing such a long review because I really enjoyed my time here and really appreciate Byron and wish him the very best. He's a hard-working, honest, and generous person that I definitely hope to cross paths with on my next trip to Lake Atitlan.

Absolutely gorgeous place made with love. I stayed 1,5 months and I enjoyed every second. Byron and Yanira were fantastic hosts.
