This place was the highlight of my trip to Ghana. If you spend just one day in Ghana visiting here, you’d have the most amazing one day trip. Well reserved and protected. The mountain climbing is an experience to look forward to. The gate fee varies depending if you’re Ghanaian or non Ghanaian.
I almost forgot our tour guard. Amazing man. He takes the best pictures and videos too.

The place serves as a forest reserve for wildlife. It also serves as a training center for millions personnels due to the high mountains . Individuals are also allowed to hike up the Shai hills under supervision. Went there to make enquiries about the place. The staff were friendly and answered all my questions. They have hotel rooms and camper tents for a group of people who wish to camp. There’s also a restaurant which serves breakfast and lunch at an affordable price. I really had fun with the baboons by the roadsides as well. Gave them some bread and biscuits. The hiking is a must try, even though I didn’t partake in it.

An amazing place to visit and learn about the Shai people and their culture. Sometimes they may ask you to pay for a photo permit depending on the type of camera you have on you. Our tour guide Bright was excellent and patient.

Very friendly and knowledgeable guides working at the reserve.

It’s a beautiful reserve as well with caves with different breeds of bats.

Saw baboons, zebras,an ostrich and got told the history of the Shai people.

I’d certainly recommend for a family trip, a date or just time out with Nature.

Oh how amazing! The views on top of the rocks are worth dying for! And there’s fresh unpolluted air to breathe all through. Our guide was so friendly and gave us a whole lot of details. He also told us of their Nature resort that had apartments. I would definitely check those out soon. We spent like 2 hours there but we enjoyed it! The zebras, antelopes, monkeys 🐒… beautiful nature!

Perfect getaway about n45 minutes outside of Acca. Not a ton of animals, other than baboons, but the vistas and views were stunning. If you do the cave hike- prepare for a pretty hard climb with rope grips and a large steep ladder. Guide was excellent

This is a very wonderful place to be. For hiking, holiday, party, waiting (prayers) and so on. The place is refreshing, peaceful and relaxing. I really appreciate the freshness of nature of the place.
When you visit there, you have the opportunity to learn a lot about history and about the life of animals.

I personally enjoyed the rocky terrain up the naturally placed rocks and learning about the history of the Shai people. The free range baboons, zebras and other animals I saw in their natural environment was exciting. The staff were friendly and helpful. A serene environment that is notably neat.

Nature is a beautiful thing to experience and one of the best places to experience it is at Shai Hills. They also have some wildlife creatures over there. Just wonderful experience.

First of all this place is such a beautiful preservation of nature. There are so many different animals in thier natural habitat. And the best part, you can actually get quite close to some of them. Aside the animals there are also a number of rocky mountains you'll have a lot of fun climbing. The staff are very nice and the guides will give you an amazing tour. Tours are billed hourly.Ghc15 an hr I think.

Had a great tour of the reserve with the family. Chose a 2hour kid- friendly tour; my 4year old rock climbing (up the Mogo Hill) got him so excited. we also saw some monkeys, zebras, antelopes and ostriches. Very friendly tour guide too.
You definitely need a car though to be able to get around as they don’t offer transportation. Fee was also really cool- Paid 2ghc per child and 30ghc per adult (entry & activity fees) + 5ghc for vehicle permit.
We have great sites to see in Ghana 🇬🇭!!
Forestry Commission/ GTA/ Ministry of Tourism, Pls get them a safari vehicle to take tourists around the reserve. The fee charged for the safari can repay the investment made in the vehicle and even attract more visitors to the reserve.

Shai hills is a wonderful place to visit, d safari and the views is one of its kind, d climb to Mogo hill n sayu cave is spectacular, saw quiet a lot of antelopes, monkeys.
D distance between these areas is very long, so is advisable u come with a car if you are someone who can't hike, if you don't come with a car too u can rent a taxi at d entrance of d place, is usually from 70cedis upwards.
Buh incase you still want to hike, you should get der very early so dat u don't have to do with d sun.
Is not also advisable to feed d baboons roaming u have to take notice.
Is a great experience will recommend visiting.

It's a very beautiful wild park, not very far from the Tema city. Great place to walk and enjoy the scenery. Go here early if you want to see the animals, because wild animals hate the strong sun too.

It’s not the far, and well there was quite a lot of hiking we suggest, taking a car you could move around with, makes the journey at the Shai hills easier. But the views are worth it
