The Sleepy Hippo Hotel

Small but well organized holiday apartment. I lodged in the dormitory and the experience was awesome. The staff are very friendly and supportive. The environment is very neat. And above all is pocket friendly and offers real value for money.

Really awesome place, especially for backpackers, it has a balcony, swimming area, projector as well as a complementary breakfast. It's got a unique and inspiring atmosphere which you can really see in the bench made out of old crates, rooms made of bamboo and amazing art in each room. This place has character but also is comfortable.

Surprised at some of the reviews, cause for this price this is an excellent place to stay. The rooms have charming decor, AC and fan, king size beds and the Wi-Fi is decent if you got work to do. The staff is very helpful with all sorts or requests and constantly available. Can't think of anything bad about this place!

Nice and Cheap hotel/hostel. You have the possibility of sharing rooms and a washing service for your clothes. As well the breakfast is inclooded. The workers are very friendly and it has a nice ambiente there. Very nice Hotel for that price. The part of the town arround is full of friendly and nice people. I can only recommend, mostly for backpackers and travellers on a low budget.

Unique hotel experience in Ghana, especially in Accra. So welcoming, clean, relaxed and "home" feeling. The Sleepy Hippo in Accra is now my home away from home. I will always come back to it as my home base. I feel I have family here, with Mariam, Anita and Emmanuel. The hospitality goes above and beyond, all of them so caring! Thank you Richard and your amazing staff!!! Marium makes the best pasta dishes, as well as other fine dinners. The rooms are clean! The fans and air conditioning work great! Strong water pressure!!! Don't let the street sway you. Come, stay and you will be happy!

The sleepy hippo is an awesome and contemporary art collection hotel . Its swag is off the chart . I love the sereness and design ,its rooftop lounge is a relaxing experience. I love the way they have thought it all through, hot water baths ,wifi ,very fast wifi , shop , working restaurant that serves continental, local and cocktails. It is a one stop home away from home and its right in the middle of town . It has a swimming area , lounge and great workers.
Rooms are also very affordable, they also have hostel style bunker beds so they cater for all budget. From 70cedis($12) to 150cedis ($30) and it comes with a complimentary breakfast.

I hade to lodge in the hotel for a night because a friend of mine who came from india needed me to assist with directions for the next day. The place is safe and secured. Low rates and affordable from 30$ to 50$ per night. Obviously a discount is offered for a stay of couple of days. Stayed here with my adventure buddies from Naidrenalin when we arrived in Accra on 29th December 2018. We left on 30th December 2018.
It was my first time in a backpackers hostel. It was comfortable, cosy and clean.
There was a complementary breakfast.
