Barbara's Highlife Village

This charming place is one hour driving from Accra center. If you want to escape from the rush capital and feel like in Africas home, go there. Our family spent 4 nights here before corona crisis 2019 and the place stays in our memories. The locality is not easy to find, but native Accra drivers knows the way. The local beach is destroyed by big waves, but going a bit far along the coast direction to Nyanyano you will find a quite place to lay down. You are not disturbed by dozens of sellers of everything like Accra beaches. The accomodation is very simple, not for bussiness trips, Africa is reminded everywhere, but as Europeans we enjoyed the quiteness and originality of the place. This was the only place where the the staff smiled so warmly. On the contrary to the rest of the country this piece of land is very tidy. Early morning we join the local fishermen helping them to pull their nets and then we enjoyed a long long breakfast back with Barbaras.

Very nice place! I stayed there 4 times already. My favourite around Kokrobite/Langma. Good food and a good place to relax. If you want to party you can still go to big millys by taxi in 7 min.

Zeer aangenaam en schoon ,het strand in de buurt is minder toegankelijk met veel troep.
