I love John's. It's not cheap but the quality of the food and produce is very good.
Lots of local products for sale and unusual deli items. The café is very good with nice coffee from local roasters.
I can heartily recommend to locals and tourists alike

Absolutely Amazing Toastie, my wife & I bought some fish from Devon & Cornwall fish Co and my wife made a remark about needing some nice bread to go with the Crab meat she bought from them. The guy recommended going to John’s of Instow and now I am recommending them! I bought a Sourdough bloomer and 2 pulled pork and Emmental cheese toastie and WOW absolutely delicious!!
I would definitely make a special journey back up to Instow just for another sandwich 👍😋💯

A dog friendly cafe where we decided to have breakfast as it started pouring with rain. We came in the dog entry door and we’re sat down with menus, we ordered breakfasts and we’re not disappointed, two of us had the veggie stack. On the menu it said it came with spinach although there wasn’t any, however I was offered extra mushrooms as I do not like avocado. My mum ordered a poached egg with hers and she was happy as it was perfectly cooked and still runny in the middle. My dad ordered a bacon and sausage sandwich and was happy with it too. The dog entry door seemed to be locked and the staff had to let people in, it wasn’t great considering the weather but apart from that no complaints. The staff were friendly and attentive and we had a little nosy around the shop after picking up a few treats as we left.

A fabulous evening all round. A great bunch of people, Lauren was a wonderful host and Clare a superb, patient artist.
We were both so happy with our first ever watercolour paintings. Thank you

A must if you’re visiting Instow. Charming cafe and deli overlooking the estuary and Instow beach. Comes as no surprise that they’ve won national Farmshop and deli awards. It’s a second generation family business - the owners Sue and Anthony are really passionate, hard working and highly knowledgeable. They source amazing produce and have developed a really diverse range. They were also one of the first delis to support and stock my local business’s (Boom Kitchen) curry kits. Coffee, cakes, crab sandwiches and this enormous gooey cheese that I can’t remember the name of are among my favourites there. Definitely worth a visit.

John’s on the Pier is a welcome addition to Instow. Friendly, helpful staff on hand to welcome you & the breakfast sandwich was heaven! A little sun trap with great views. The perfect spot to watch the world go by. Whether you eat in or takeaway, the food from the deli is amazing. Fab selection of local gins. There is no hesitation in recommending John’s to all our guests @HartlandForestLodge

Amazing luxury deli and great attached dog friendly cafe. Always come here for coffee when we're in the area. Usually a few vegan cake things to choose from too.

We had a wonderful lunch today! All the servers were very friendly and kind to us and our children. Morgan, our main server, was helpful and very polite.
The food was incredible and very quick to come out. We loved that we can buy the produce used to make the meal right there in the shop.
We can’t wait to come back!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Sip and Paint workshop at Johns with Clare Willcocks. The tuition was expert, friendly and supportive. The gin and canapés were delicious. It was great to have a couple of hours learning a new skill with other like- minded people in a non- threatening environment. It was great to have something to be proud of to take home at the end of the evening. Loved it !

We absolutely love John’s and try to visit every time we’re home to see my mum. It’s dog friendly and wheelchair friendly, and the staff are lovely. Food is great (I recommend the breakfast butty and the porridge!) and the cakes are divine. A little gem.
