Small cafe / tea room but the coffee and fruit scones were great. After an early start and a long drive it was a fine welcome to this part of the country. Must be 40 yrs since I was last here and Nairn has certainly grown. The town is a pleasant mixture of old and new. Spent most of my time in the harbour area. Thanks.

Extensive menu, 3 pages, including breakfast items (served all day), hot sandwiches, soups, etc. Another whole page of drink options. Portions were more than adequate; a side order of chips fed 3 of us. All of us were very pleased with our choices: french toast, croque Monsieur, and one I don't remember! A latte, a flat white and a cappuccino rounded it out, all for £36. Quick, cheerful, efficient service. What's not to like? I'll be back.

We went here after deciding against Brodie Countryfare, it was definitely the right choice. Great food, generous portion sizes at a good price, friendly staff and relaxed cosy atmosphere. Can't recommend anymore. Thank you!!

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the best cafe in Nairn and if in a debating mood, Scotland. Okay, at least the IV postcode for sure. We had a phenomenal Cullen Skint and a chicken and pesto sandwich served which what I would have said was “a little out there for me” mangetout coleslaw. This was until I tasted it, the man who came up with this can only be some kind of super human. The kitchen is open-view and we were entertained by some stirling banter by the chef while eating. They are lucky there is no beds in this place or I would move in!

The Cullen Skink here was really amazing and the staff was very conscientious and attentive about food allergies. Definitely a great stop for lunch. Be forewarned the little canister with the white plastic nozzle lid is NOT SUGAR that is SALT DON'T ADD IT TO YOUR CAPPUCCINO don't make the mistakes that I made. The salted cappuccino was obviously my fault and not the staff which is why I'm still giving them five stars.

My Westie and I were made to feel very welcome on a very cold day! I had a bowl of Cullen Skink, which I have to say was one of the best I've ever had! Absolutely lovely. The staff were very friendly and I would definitely go back. Certainly worth a visit, highly recommend.

A cosy cafe by the Nairn harbour and between the Nairn and east beach. It’s an easy walk from both beaches, and a much needed haven in the cold. The decoration is sweet and simple. The walls are adorned by lovely paintings which you get to enjoy with a warm cuppa. They do brunch and have lots of cakes and small delicacies you can enjoy with your warm drink. They are a nice friendly bunch. Happy to help with directions and suggestions in the area.

Lovely little place, great coffee and welcome - sorry we couldn't stay longer this time but there'll be another visit next time we're in the area.

Only cafe open on a Sunday in Nairn so it's very busy. There are seats outside if it's mild.

Great selection of food and drinks to eat in or take away. Reasonable pricing.

Small but great atmosphere - well staffed and they are clearly enthusiastic for their business and produce, it felt like a well oiled machine as the table was populated with freah clean utensils and condiments. I tried my first vegetarian breakfast and it ate as good as it looked (see below). It was obvious they had solid local support but visitors were made extra welcome - happy to recommend and will visit again.

This cafe serves great food. My wife had Cullen Skink and I had “Rusty fries” chilli con carne, chips and cheese. Both were excellent hot and tasty, served by very friendly and efficient staff.

Just stopped off for a quick coffee and scone to warm up from the cold wind outside, this place was just what we needed. Lovely friendly staff and we felt super welcomed. Would have loved to stay longer to try more of the food and watch the world go by.

Basil cafe is situated at Nairn harbour and has a welcoming atmosphere with good food and a grand view of the harbour. You will require to be early to get a seat cafe opens at 10.00. Small well behaved dogs are allowed in the cafe, there is seating outside for larger dogs. Photo is of Mac outside the cafe.
Well worth a visit when you are in Nairn or passing threw.
