We ordered the crispy duck starter which was delicious as a light lunch, the cream of tomato soup and bread is also very satisfying as well as roasted venison and vegetables. They have a bar and restaurant in a nicer pub setting. Service was friendly and quick. Good prices.

Large warm bedroom with very comfy bed and stylish decor; big powerful shower. Food, service and staff all top class. Loved my stay as did my dog!

You really can't get a better place to stay than this! We stayed in Room 1 which seemed to have been recently renovated. The bathroom had a double sink and double shower... Luckily, no double toilet!
The king bed was comfortable and cosy. It was great to have french press coffee in the room for the morning.
The included breakfast was great and had a good choice that would keep anyone happy.

Very welcoming. Kids meals are great value and not too hot. They brought it out early for the 2 hungry kids. The adult burgers were huge and very tasty. Thanks

We live about 25 minutes away from Aboyne and have been to the Boat a number of times for Breakfast and Lunch. The food is always excellent and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Our dogs love the treat tin also!

I wish we had somewhere like the Boat in our village.

Have been here a couple of times for dinner when staying in Aboyne. It's really wonderful with great food, drinks and staff. The drinks menu is a stand-out - cocktails that are a bit different from the norm and actually taste as they are described (the watermelon margarita is 10/10). The food is hearty and delicious and the staff are friendly and warm. Would deffo recommend. Make a reservation though! We've been on weekdays in October when almost all tables are full.

Had dinner on Christmas eve and the food was incredible, the non vegetarian and vegetarian burgers both were made to an incredible standard and the coleslaw was to die for. Service was amazing too, would definitely visit again when nearby.

Visited for mid week lunch and had a friendly welcome and great food. We enjoyed the shed burger and the chicken burger and the vegetable curry. Dessert was a large sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate moose which was enough for 2 to share and very rich and creamy. Great choice of beer too.
The waiters were all very jolly and friendly a the pub was very welcoming of dogs visiting, even having a blanket for them to lie on and a big tin of dog biscuits.
Seating was comfortable and the scenery is just lovely with a nice river walk to walk off our lunch.

A stunner of a pub, grand food (the fish board for a starter is possibly the best thing I’ve done in 2024 so far) delicious beer, fantastic hospitality and a DARTS BOARD. Plan to be here next hogmany. And the one after that too.

Had lunch here with my 2 kids and husband. We The food was great. The young lad that served us was very attentive and thorough with taking our order as I have a dairy allergy and he made sure it was all fine for me to have.
Lovely pub area and the kids enjoyed the little train that went around the wall.
Definitely will go back when we are in the area again.

Dropped in for a quick lunch short of time. Place was busy but we were led to a lovely, quieter bar area, ordered sandwiches and a drink and were served in 10 mins. The drinks were the best ever. Soda and lime with a lovely amount of lime, which never happens. And an equally tasty and refreshing orange juice and lemonade. The sandwiches were great with quality crisps and a beautifully dressed salad. Truly excellent experience.

Great pub for a late afternoon pint after a day in the countryside. Lots of board games and big tables. Dogs welcome in the drinking bar (called the shed but actually a proper part of the building!).
