Off The Croft Takeaway

Unfortunately they didn’t have any beef available when we went. I had the venison 6oz burger with bacon, onions and cheese and my partner had the 6oz lamb with the same toppings, with a medium portion of chips to share (a large would have been too much!)
The food was delicious, the service was quick, polite and very enthusiastic about their food!

So if this place had not been recommended but the owner of prickly Thistle not sure we would have found it or tried it. But proof never judge a book by the cover. Amazing chips and the lamb burger is awesome. Not a spot to be missed... If you can find it

Lovely spot, great food. Meat produced on the croft making this a bit special. Proper chips to go with my Gloucester old Spot sausages both delicious as was my wife's fish and chips. Bought some fresh eggs and jams at the Croft also. If your anywhere near this area this place is a must. Loved it!!

Excellent hidden find!! This was the only place open past 8pm within ~20 miles and it was GREAT! 11 of us arrived to Skye tired and hungry - and we rolled up to this cute spot around 9pm and they were very accommodating! The food was prepared quickly and very well. Best chips I’ve had in the UK. Best burger I’ve found. Good fish & chips. Prawns were tasty. Service was EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT!

We randomly decided to come here even though it was out of our way and we were so glad we did! We got the battered halloumi buns and chips and everything was delicious. It was so great to see the halloumi option too as I’m a vegetarian :)

The food is simple stuff that you would expect from a takeaway, but much higher quality! They serve delicious homemade sausages with their own selection of homemade chutneys.

The venison burger was meaty and delicious and the battered monkfish was tender and crispy. Really good batter!

They also have a little farm shop selling their own chutneys, eggs and some veg when available. The strawberries were the best we’ve ever had.

Best fish n chips had in a long time! Amazing monkfish, fine burgers and hand cut chips. What’s not to love!

Great discovery!! The homemade beef burguer was awesome, also the chips. The guy who runs it was very kind, I highly recommend the place!
We also had a hot chocolate and a coffee, both were also very good and we spent 15£ each, so it was excellent for the quality product that they offer.

Delicious food! The haddock roll was out of this world. Fluffy batter and melted in the mouth. Just behind this was Rowen Farm offering beautiful jams, chutneys and various eggs to buy. Would highly reccomend this place to anyone visiting Plockton.

After finding restaurant after restaurant in Kyleakin closed or fully booked, we ventured out to the Off The Croft Takeaway and enjoyed some delicious sausages and chips.

What has been setup here over the course of lockdown is incredible and well worth a visit. The meat is all taken from the farm where this is based and as such some things may be more available than others, but my word was it tasty. Also the chips have to be some of the best I've had whilst travelling around Scotland.

Payment is taken via cash or bank transfer.

Lived on Skye for a number of years and work in Plockton regularly and still have only just discovered this little treasure, great food especially the rare breed pork sausages and home made chips, I can see myself becoming a regular 👍🏻

Update with photos and also learned today that the Beef / Lamb and Pork is all reared on the Croft itself , grass-fed and then processed by the family , brilliant!

The best lamb burger and chips ever! Made from the lambs they rear on the croft. The chips are amazing too

Fantastic takeaway-we loved our beef burgers and also walking past the turkeys! Recommend this for when you’ve had enough (amazing) local seafood. It’s also next to a beautiful beach, though would suggest eating at the takeaway as the beach walk is a little too far to go with food and a bit of a scramble (but well worth it). Also you can buy local eggs (and see the very much free range chickens).

Big statement but the best bacon and sausage bap we have ever eaten - and we’ve eaten a lot! Meat was from his father’s Croft so 0 food miles! 10/10 would go back every day if I could. Extremely good value as well and coffee was excellent

Fantastic place. The wife and I both had a 6oz burger with Cheese, grilled onions chutney and bacon. We ordered Chips as well. Everything was cooked to perfection and is sourced off the farm. Take a 2 min drive toward the loch and eat and enjoy the view.

Had the sausage supper, not your traditional battered sausage and chips - proper sausages, with delicious batter, and chips like your nan would make.

Great sausage from the local farm. Really lovely local place with a very friendly feel. There's a charming little farm shop selling jams and eggs just out the back.

We had amazing food here yesterday; two burgers, chips and halloumi fries. The halloumi fries were the best I've ever had. Very rustic as its a working farm but well worth a visit.

Had an absolutely phenomenal meal here. As soon as I'd finished my food, I was pining for more. Wish there was something similar nearer to me. Highly recommended.

This place is a real gem! Restaurant quality delicious food, incredibly decent prices and a really lovely guy preparing everything fresh. We had the fish & chips, beef burger, lamb burger and sausage & chips and all were fantastic. Amazing to think it's all either bred there or locally sourced. It's just one man running the whole thing so be patient - it's worth it!
