Amazing little place, lodges are compact and cute! Very clean and have the necessary items needed. Great to use as a base to go exploring the surrounding areas. The small trails around are very convenient. The only issue we have is that the bed and mattress was very firm. Not that comfy fir either of us, we both suffered with back pain when waking up. Other than that, everything else is perfect. P.s wear insect repellent in the summer!!

We stopped here to break up our drive and am so glad we did. The food was delicious in the coffee shop and nothing was too much trouble for them. After eating we did the faerie trail and it was absolutely amazing, the faerie houses are fantastic and the trail book you fill in with the clues is a fantastic idea and very interactive. Will definitely be visiting again even if it's just to see the troll hiding near the bridge...

Couldnt ask for any better. The cabins sleep 2 adults everything you need for cooking etc. Very clean. Quiet and remote lots of walking trails around the grounds. You have horses right outside rabbits and hares running around a few deers. Plenty places outwith the grounds to go to and explore. Would recommend it to family and friends.

We had a super relaxing stay here. The lodges have a great modern interior and the surroundings are beautiful, you couldn’t be more comfortable. It really is the definition of peace and quiet. The breakfast hamper was a welcome treat (enjoyed best with a view). We would most definitely stay here again.

Absolutely fabulous place for young & old , cafe, visitors center, horse riding & stables there to see . The fairy trail is great and very well done .. had me believing ... Access to the monument too but quite a walk from the car park .. which is free , but they do ask you for a voluntary doation of a £1 to help with the upkeep

Noticed this place by chance & a Fairy trail. .being a bit of a kid decided to give it a go....not disappointed in fact loved it ...so so cute ..lots of individual fairy houses....including one where kids can leave the fallen out tooth .a large troll at the footbridge...red kite flying above...carved out wooden hand impression where u lay your hands to make a wish.this place is wheelchair accessible but I would suggest those walking wear sturdy footwear as ground was wet & bit slippy... Afterwards treat yourself to cake/ coffee in the large roomy cafe. .new owners very welcoming...

We visited here in May.The cafe was open and we had delicious cakes, coffee and hot chocolate. The staff were very helpful and pointed out the things we could see and do. The wildlife walk is quite short, but extremely well laid out and varied, with ponds, streams, bushes and native trees, encouraging lots of insect and bird species. Some of the highlights were song thrush, whitethroat, willow warbler, linnet and redpoll. We also saw peregrine and red kite. A longer trail is also present for those wishing to walk further. Lots of leaflets in the visitor centre and toilets - always welcome. We had a great day!

Absolutely lovely, (our 2nd vist this year) accommodation (wooden lodges) are Superb, they have everything you need, spotlessly clean & extremely well insulated, (here for a 5 day break mid Oct 2019, not needed the heating on at all. Beautiful quiet place, very peaceful, Would definately recommend. 👍🤗✔

Sunday September 6th after the rain out came the sun. Dog walk at Barstobrick . On to Queens Hill past the monument and views of the lake district and Isle of Man. Down the bridge of Dee side and on to the old Queens Hill Barstobrick drover road. Old walled garden at Queens Hill looks great, I remember it as more of a vegetable garden. On past the old ice rink and back to Barstobrick car park. Could qualify as the best two hour walk in Scotland.
Perfect, good food great dog walks. Staff very helpful.

Lovely sunny day to climb the hill and walk through the woods and walled garden. Lots of information posts to read and a good cafe to reward oneself at the end.
