Such an incredible experience and amazing results from having my guitar setup and pickups replaced at Somerset Strings.
Tim was fantastic to deal with and he really shows how much hard work and dedication he puts into his craft.

Great service and care. Two guitars serviced so far and the rest are going in! I’m so impressed with Tim’s builds that I’m now considering a commission. His guitars are stunning!!! The necks! The finest necks I’ve held in my hands. Just beautifully, intuitively crafted with a perfect action. You could drop a few grand on a second hand Gibson, a Japanese Gretsch, American Fender etc. or you could have something that blows the brands away.

Excellent service. I have a Fender Acoustasonic that really needed a decent set up, the action was very high with a few frets proud. Tim did a fantastic job at a decent price. Couldn't be happier

I had Tim repair and service my Marlin acoustic recently. It was a tricky job and not only did he fix every issue, he improved several areas which has made it nicer to play than it’s ever been. I cannot recommend this chaps company enough. Friendly service, great communication and just a fantastic job!

Tim has fixed two of my instruments - on my guitar he resolved ( where others had failed) a longstanding dysfunctional pick up issue, and on my old mandolin he rebuilt the bridge, reset the strings, adjusted an internal brace, lowered a few frets and filled the tatty wooden headstock, so now it looks nice and plays beautifully. Both jobs were exactly what was needed and were done with such care and precision - I remain very impressed.
It's all about the detail with Tim. His communication is impeccable, consulting with you before actioning anything, offering different options and different price scales, etc. Finally - and this is a Biggie for me - he doesn't talk down to me as a woman, something I've developed a bit of a radar for over the years.

Great service from Tim - went out of his way to diagnose a problem with a very niche bass amp and came up with a great solution. And did a great setup and installation of replacement electronics/ pickups on my bass. Highly recommended!

I took my LAG acoustic guitar to Tim at Somerset Strings to have a new EQ unit fitted and a general service.

I'd been having problems trying to find an EQ to fit, but Tim managed to source and fit a new Shadow unit to exactly match the original and then cleaned and reset the frets and fretboard, gave the guitar a good clean and restrung it. It now 'sings' beautifully and I can play it through an amp at last!

Tim's attention to detail and quaility of service is outstanding and I'd have no hesitation in recommending him and Somerset Strings to anyone who needs any kind of guitar/amp repair, service or build.
