I’ve just returned from running a glorious Yoga weekend retreat at Cwm Connell. My students and I took over all the cottages and the Yoga Shala. Alex and Emma are wonderful hosts, always on hand to help with any queries. The beautifully refurbished cottages are of the highest specification, each with its own identity, from one bedroom studios to 3 bedroom cottages with outdoor seating areas. Emma has great taste - the decor, fixtures and fittings are all stunning! Locally sourced bread, (the most heavenly) honey butter, coffee and fresh flowers are found in each cottage. The open air hot tub, cold water pod and sauna add to the fun! The Yoga Shala is a beautiful space with views over the fields. It has its own upstairs lounge and dining area (and almost finished kitchen). Although the weather was a little blustery (storm Kathleen made an appearance) it didn’t stop us all from blowing away the cobwebs with a walk down to the sea! I can’t thank my students, Emma & Alex and Tanya O’Gaia (who catered in the evenings) enough for a splendid weekend and I can’t wait to run another Meadowside yoga retreat at this beautiful location next year!

This is a fantastic holiday retreat, and now even better with the superb update since our previous visit 2 years ago. Everything is designed for comfort, including the super-comfy beds. Emma is a great host, very friendly and attentive to detail. It's also not just dog friendly, but very accommodating, with a wonderfully large & enclosed paddock for them to run around in (which also has lovely sea views) and other facilities including blankets, towels and even a dog hair dryer 😀. We cannot recommend Cwm Connell and Emma highly enough.

We stayed in one of these cottages this time last year and had a wonderful holiday. Emma could not have been more welcoming, the cottages have been beautifully renovated with style and comfort in mind. There is a walk down through the woods to a secluded bay or a short drive either direction takes you to deserted sandy beaches. We enjoyed the amazing coastal views and the lovely nearby town of Cardigan. You don’t need to have a dog to stay here!
Also, Emma is an amazing Reflexologist, I highly recommend booking an appointment with her during your stay.

Cwm Connell is a proper home away from home. The cottages have been refurbished to a high standard with beautiful furnishings and wooden flooring that makes them very dog-friendly but with a very luxury finish. The location is superb as a base for walking, cycling and otherwise exploring this spectacular part of the world. I've been out riding bike most days and my fitness has measurably improved as a result – in country this hilly there's nowhere to hide, but the sheer beauty of the scenery makes the work worthwhile.
Emma and Alex are attentive, caring hosts who looked after us really well – a far cry from the typical Air BnB absentee holiday-let owner.
Facilities for dog owners are excellent, with a washing station for when they get muddy and plenty of throws to stop the furniture getting too doggy. We always felt that the dogs were as welcome as we were.
High points of our too-brief stay included the dog-friendly beaches at Ceibwr Bay and Poppit Sands, which also has an excellent cafe with good coffee, ice cream and food; watching scores of red kites coming in for a feed at Bwlch Nant yr Arian; The Plwmp Tart cafe at Penbryn; and the warm welcome at the Pavilion Cafe at Penrallt Garden Centre, which is just 20 minutes' walk from Cwm Connell.

What a wonderful holiday we have just had at Cwm Connell! We stayed in the newly renovated Bron Y Felin and WOW, what a cottage! Immaculately finished to a very high standard, such a luxury feel to a country cottage. Top of the range appliances which made cooking a doddle and not a chore! Beautiful bathrooms, extra comfy beds and many small touches that just made it a dream! Not a single thing to fault, not only that but the setting is beautiful! So many gorgeous walks, views of the coast from the dog paddocks, and fantastic facilities! The owners are more than happy to help with any request no matter how big or small, and are super friendly and easy to talk to! We cannot wait to come back, and we don't say that often! Thanks Emma 😊

I stayed in one of the updated cottages (Ty Twt) with my partner and we absolutely loved it. The new owners are attentive and helpful and have done great remodels on some of the cottages already. They're installing new blinds as we pack up our car to leave lol.
The location is a short drive from at least two beaches and a few towns. We enjoyed the sauna, hot tub, new kitchen. We petted the owners' dogs who were very polite.
Google Maps tries to direct you to an unpaved road marked "deliveries only" but I would recommend driving past that turn and taking the longer paved way to get to the property.

Perfect location for a holiday and great to be able to bring our three dogs with us. The cottages are lovely and the facilities for dogs outstanding. Only a quick walk through a quaint wood to a small cove or the option to use a dog paddock. The surrounding area/beaches/restaurants are very dog friendly too.

Charming complex of cottages, along a quiet track. Feels like miles from anywhere. Lovely owners, very present and we saw them every day. Cottage for 2 is comfy, well equipped, with enormous bed. Feels laid back and welcoming of dogs - great paddock for them to run about safely, plenty of towels and a wash point for dirty boots/paws. DVDs library, and laundry, very handy.
We enjoyed the mini spa - hot tub and sauna, overlooking the fields.
Decent walk down the hill to the little bay, our dogs loved it.
A bit weird, as vegans, being so close to cows and goats (farms very close by) but it didn't diminish our enjoyment. Lovely Woodstove for cheer in the cooler seasons.
Overall lovely, would recommend

If you like wild and windy walks amid stunning seaside landscapes, with mainly birds and sheep for company, and the occasional prehistoric archeology, this is the place for you. It's also a very comfortable place to stay, whatever the weather - with newly restored stone cottages furnished with wood burning stoves and modern kitchen appliances. We stayed in early July for a family reunion taking over several cottages and sharing meals and it couldn't have been lovelier. Good local food and restaurants are not far, though the country lanes take some getting used to for city drivers. Good place to get away from the shrill clamour of phone (not much signal) and email (though cottages have good wifi) and just marinate in blissful isolation.

We had an incredible weekend stay with friends in such a beautiful setting. The cottages were clean, modern, cosy and had all the gadgets you needed. It's walking distance to the beach and has numerous cliff sides walks available. Emma and Alex were fantastic hosts who made themselves available for us throughout the weekend.

We had an lovely stay here, the cottages and gardens were absolutely beautiful, and there was a wonderful atmosphere with the other visitors and dogs and a very friendly and organised host! There is a quiet cove 20 minutes walk from the cottage, and several other beaches within short driving distance.

Lovely cottages in the middle of nowhere, its peaceful and beautiful setting with the coastal path nearby. The hot tub and sauna were a delight at the end if the day. Emma and Alex are very welcoming and helpful when needed.
We had a fantastic time exploring the area and the nearest beach, Poppit Sands is beautiful and very clean.
Definitely recommend but a car is essential due to location of cottages which we were aware of. There are lots of lovely towns and beaches to visit nearby also some fabulous pubs/restaurants that are dog friendl too.
Over all we had a fantastic time and saw some breathtaking views

A wonderful weekend escape. Recently remodelled, you can tell every care has been taken to make the cottages feel like a modern home from home, with beautiful interiors that echo the countryside they’re nestled in. For cooler days a fabulous log burner makes the cottage feel extra cosy. A truly tranquil moment can be taken in the hot tub where you can fully admire the stunning setting of the cottages, over looking the Preseli Hills. We enjoyed walking through the fields down to the beach, a beautiful place to watch the sun set or a refreshing morning swim! Near by is Poppit Sands, a sandy beach that stretches as far as you can see. The cottages are perfectly located to explore all the area has to offer. Emma and Alex are such thoughtful hosts and very welcoming, including their lovely dogs! Very much look forward to coming back!

Just returned from a lovely few days in Fron Haul.
Very friendly hosts Emma and Alex.
Very dog friendly, not just tolerant, they even have a dog blaster dryer. 2 acre padlock and lovely walks from the door to a cove and the coastal path.
Beautiful dog friendly beaches within 10 minutes drive.
Thouroughly enjoyed it.

Cym Connell coastal cottages are a hidden gem! So pretty and peaceful. This is the most dog friendly cottage we have ever stayed at. An large enclosed field with stunning views and sunsets to exercise your dog was fantastic. Dogs were welcomed, blankets and towels provided plus a crate available if needed. An enclosed garden too so you could leave door open and they can wander freely.
The walk through the most beautiful woods to a dog friendly bay was a dream!
Very clean and well set up to make you feel safe. Alcohol gel dispenser at entrance to laundry and field and so quiet it was the perfect place for social distancing.
So many gorgeous beaches within a 10 minute drive, Poppit sands was our favourite. The only thing I could say could be a problem for some was the narrow lanes and track but if you go slow and steady it’s fine. Could have stayed longer!!

I stayed here for half term just gone. I was very impressed with the comfort of the bed. Ive had major spine surgery last year and dont really sleep well. My first night in Cwm Connell i slept for 12 hours ! .
So very impressed with the overall comfort and ergonomics of the apartment we stayed in.Being in the beautiful countryside and also having a hot tub and sauna available ( both kept v clean - im usually not a fan of hot tubs but the house rules etc work well so the facilities are very useable ) made this very theraputic for me and i came away from a week with "the kids " actually feeling well rested, calm and peaceful . 12 out 0f 10 from me - mostly for comfort, facilities and overall "warmth" of the whole place.

Excellent cottages. Dog-friendly.

Lisa and Paul were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. They even organised for their local mechanic to look at, and fix, our car within 1 hr.

We will be coming back!
