We didn't know the area but wanted something to eat. We googled Pubs near Atherstone and the Black Horse came up. When, we drove up I nearly drove on, as from the outside it didn't look too good. Boy am I glad we didn't. We were greeted in the car park by the Landlord and Landlady who were very friendly and informative, making us feel at home straight away.

This place was amazing, a small restaurant laid up like a 5 star one would be. Then a cosy les formal Garden Room.

The menu had a really good choice for a town centre pub. We both chose the Frank Parker's Sirloin steak, which we requested Blue. When the meals came they were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection and excellent quality. As were the accompanying vegetables

For dessert my husband had Eton Mess and I had the Chefs Special of Salted Caramel Cheesecake, both of which were to die for.

We are looking forward to eating here again and feel that it is well worth the nearly 80 miles round trip.

We were staying in Atherstone, but our accommodation did not serve food.
Wondering along the High Street, The Black Horse was recommended to us for an evening meal.
We entered, and were then shown to the restaurant area of the pub, which was tidy, neat and well presented.
The Food, however, was AMAZING..... All of their meat is sourced from a local butcher. I had a Chicken Kebab and my wife had one of the best steaks she has ever had. We had no room for dessert, but an adjoining table seemed very impressed.
Also very good value.....
As we left, we noticed that they also did breakfasts. That meant that the next morning, we were queuing up to get our fill of bacon, sausage, eggs etc. Again all locally sourced and served in the breakfast area of the pub.
We would highly recommend this place as a place to eat.

Food was amazing. And so was the service. Will be going back. The scotch egg was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. A must try. Trust me you will not be disappointed going here for food.
Well done to the new owners

What an absolute treat! The little tearoom was so pretty and added to the warm welcome we received. It really was a proper afternoon tea experience and the food itself was delicious! If you are looking for somewhere to have Afternoon Tea you cant go wrong! We will definitely be coming back!

I took my mum and sisters here for afternoon tea. The staff were friendly and helpful. The tea room is really cute.. decorated vintage style which suits the afternoon tea, the corridor leading to it could do with a freshen up.. as that could be slightly off putting. But other than that it was lovely.. food was great. Some tea cups were slightly chipped but I thought that added to the charm. Would definitely go again.
Thank you for having us!

Very welcoming staff , the hot buffet was just perfect the staff were so helpful and friendly couldn't do enough to help the party for Keith our 80 year old rock n roller. We are definitely returning to sample a Sunday lunch in New year, ( providing we aren't in another lock down). 🙂🙂🙂

Went here for a friend's wedding reception, it was very well presented, the food was excellent and the owner was the perfect host making sure everyone was happy. It even had a second bar in the marquee for all the wedding guests. Unfortunately I snagged my trousers on a nail protruding from a bench, but the owners couldn't of been more accommodating and we're happy to reimburse me for the cost of a replacement. I have to say this is a great place for food and a fantastic venue. It has a good reputation in the area and well deserved to.

I went for afternoon tea with my friend today at the Black Horse, to celebrate her recent special birthday. We were both impressed with the set up as we weren’t really sure what to expect. The service was brilliant, the young lady serving us and the chef came out to us a few times to make sure we were happy with the food. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh and the cakes were gorgeous. The background music was just right so we could chat and the orangery where we sat was bright and very shabby chic. It was very good vfm and I’m sure we will go again.

Marked down on atmosphere purely because music was a touch too loud. Food was incredible!!!
