Really lovely place. Tasty food in generous portions. And the children's meals come on little cake stands. Attentive, friendly staff in a relaxed atmosphere.
Highly recommend.

Some of the best scones we’ve ever had! Kind and friendly staff and a great atmosphere. We loved the miss-match crockery and cutlery. Will definitely be returned next time we visit Leek :)

A lovely tea room. Serving great food and beverage. The tea is served in a fantastic collection of China teapots and cups and saucers with quirky milk jugs, salt and pepper pots. All ads character to how a tea room should be. The staff are wonderful and welcoming. Set just off the market Square it's the Idea spot to recharge yourself.

What a terrific place. Friendly, super-smiley service. Great food, sensible prices. One of Leek's 'hidden gems'. And terrific filled oatcakes of course...plus WiFi!

I went to The Lion House Tearooms for a hen do in January 2023 and had a great time. There was a really generous amount of food with a good ratio between savoury and sweet. The staff were super helpful and friendly prior to and during our visit. We had one member of our group who uses a wheelchair and the staff were able to make it accessible for everyone, which was great. We had to pre-order and the staff were very diligent with dietary requirements, which I really appreciated. Lovely setting and location. Would recommend :)

Cute, quirky place with yummy, locally sourced food, quality coffee and friendly service - we came here for breakfast and lunch, and were so pleased we found them. A little gem in the heart of Leek.

Our favourite place to visit for lunch & lucky for us we are local.
We have visited a few times now, and each time we are very impressed and full up! The service is always spot on and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Especially like all the quirky tea pots!
Lovely home made food, and generous portions. The homemade scones with jam and cream are divine, we always make sure to take a couple home with us. 5stars*

We visited the Tearoom 25/5/22 and were amazed at how lovely it was. A friendly greeting as we entered helped us feel welcome as we sheltered from the downpour outside.
Swiftly served we ordered 2 coffees, a scone and a alice of fresh homemade lemon drizzle cake. It was brought over to our table ( with another smile ) and looked & tasted amazing.
The scone was fresh and served with cream & jam and my cake was delicious.
Many thanks, we shall return again, hopefully in the sunshine this time 😎

Took my nan for afternoon tea on her birthday. We really enjoyed it. Wonderfully beautiful selection of homemade cakes too. It’s safe to say I’ll try to come back soon. And I just wanted to say that your own brew coffee is really nice.

Fab find in Leek. Fantastically quirky crockery (a Tardis salt cruet?!) the most delicious home-baked cakes and scones (Guinness chocolate cake to die for) and super friendly staff. Made afternoon tea a special occasion.

Lovely tearoom. Fresh cakes and bags of character. Could've murdered a bacon butty but had to make a difficult choice and went for a scone🥰🥰

I visited the Lion House Tearoom yesterday afternoon with my son and our dog. I had heard very good things about this tearoom, and after a long walk in the sun around Rudyard lake we decided to pop into Leek and visit the Lion House. I love the fact that I was able to bring my dog into the downstairs tearoom, this isn't allowed in many places now-a-days sadly. I had a latte, which was incredibly good quality. The coffee was sourced locally and was very good indeed!

My son had some of the ice cream in a bowl. My son is Autistic and sadly he had a moment and decided to swipe the whole bowl of ice cream off the table and onto the floor which smashed the china bowl. I was very embarrassed by this incident, however the owner very quickly came over to clear the bowl without any fuss and brought over a fresh bowl of ice cream and didn't charge me again. I cannot thank her enough for understanding and being so generous as to give my son another bowl of ice cream! She also brought over a bowl of water for my dog, which was accommodating.

If I could give Lion House Tearoom 6 stars i would, they put the cherry on the icing of a wonderful family day. Friendly, local and very welcoming. Thanks to everyone there.

Staff can't do enough for you. Food excellent. Very reasonable price. Just like an old fashioned tea room. If it looks full then try downstairs. A true not to miss place in Leek. Charlotte the owner is very colourful especially in the hair region and a nicer person I have yet to meet.

Visited on Friday with my husband and enjoyed a really enjoyable experience at Lion House. We were In the downstairs area which is lovely and quiet and tastefully decorated with olde world items. We were served by a very pleasant young man and I had a delicious bowl of mushroom soup served with a cheese scone which was very fresh and tasty. The tea for two was in a large pot and there was enough for at least two cups each. We will certainly visit again in the very near future and this will become a place to go for good service, excellent food and a lovely environment. Well done to those who own it and run it.

A beautifully designed tearoom serving delicious homemade cakes, freshly ground coffee and a large variety of breakfast choices. The lunch menu is equally good with a wide variety of salad boxes to choose from, perfect for slimming! Lion House is evidently taking great measures to reduce their carbon footprint and environmental impact, using fresh local produce, biodegradable takeaway packaging and even glass milk bottles! Very impressive!

Excellent food. We had a small afternoon tea - to die for! A choice of sandwiches, quiche, cream scone, tea/coffee. Superbly presented and fantastic value for money. Clean tea room and clean toilets. Lovely staff and obliging. The cafe is tucked away down a side street off the main shopping area - it was a great find; look it out it's well worth a visit.
