The Central Surgery

I think this practice has very greatly and genuinely improved within the last year or so. My husband has been a patient here for over 50 years and the NHS has changed a lot in that time but this is a national issue not everything can be blamed on the individual surgery . I used to work at this surgery with the original caring doctors and staff and for some time after they left I felt ashamed to be associated with it but as it has been for the past year or so it is once again coming back up to the standard it originally was. I would now be happy to recommend it to anyone again. Well done to all.

Been a patient here for the last 6 months and I have always been rung back when needed and drs/reception have always done their best to help me.

The only thing that could be improved is knowing where you are in queue when ringing/sometimes getting through, but I appreciate that it gets very busy. Other than that, I really appreciate all the help I have had :)

My son used the surgery as a temporary resident, he got an appointment on the same day, the staff were pleasant and efficient and he was dealt with quickly on the same day. Great service, great staff

Having spoken to a gp regarding a new condition, I was able to arrange through reception (Jacqueline) a blood test the next day. Five days later, having had a telephone consult with a gp, I am sorted. I have been treated with speed, professionalism, understanding and respect.

On that note, I just wanted to say that I'm sad to hear patients are being disrespectful towards the receptionists and staff etc. They are working under unprecedented conditions regarding the ongoing virus cases and it's aftermath. Just be respectful! It's not hard to treat people in any other way than you would want to be treated yourself!

So impressed with the Ask my GP service the practice now has; it’s so much easier to get an appointment on the same day and to speak to a member of the team. All the doctors and nurses I have seen are always so kind and approachable and clearly dedicated to their work. Now the appointment system has been improved it’s made the surgery so much better and I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you for your care.

Dr Macdonald was outstanding at dealing with my concerns, excellent GP care all very efficiently done over the several contacts needed on the telephone and by text. The receptionists were also very polite and helpful despite I'm sure a lot of stress dealing with the huge demand in an underfunded system. Take care of yourselves all.

Following a prompt telephone call back I was given a same day in person appointment with a newly appointed doctor. The consultation was thorough, unrushed and conducted in a professional, pleasant manner. Excellent service.

I had a slight medical concern earlier and the staff at Central Surgery were absolutely brilliant in dealing with me. I had an appointment within an hour, and was provided with such a professional and caring service. The doctor was so thorough and made me feel completely at ease and reassured. Excellent service especially the 'Ask my GP' which allows the patient to seek medical advice without taking up surgery time and face to face appointments which may be needed for more urgent cases. You get a prompt and helpful response from 'Ask my GP' and I have found it invaluable on a number of occasions.

I have found the ask my go app wonderful. The staff have always been polite whether a gp or part of the reception team. It must be very difficult for them during covid to provide a service and the vaccination programme, which I'm sure took staff from the phones to administrating the clinics. Well done you 👍

I must commend Central Surgery for its dedication and commitment for advanced forward thinking and engagement with patients. Its desire in ensuring quality services and changes in practice in services to meet the 21 century expectations of its patients are clearly evident. The Patient group is a vibrant, active, accepted and contributing factor which is a tribute to all. Good surgery especially Ask my GP service. All the queries are resolved promptly and face to face appointments are given straightaway if required. Nice and friendly staff members. Would definitely recommend this surgery.
