Great exhibits. Had an 80s themed section when we went. Even has the original Worcester sauce recipe jug from which the nectar of the gods was perfected. Always love a museum visit when i travel, and we spent nice little afternoon looking around this museum

The 80s exhibition is truly delightful! A trip down memory lane, the movies, stars and songs of the 80s set me tingling with nostalgia. A reminder of the days when we had Marathon bars and Opal Fruits, Fame was on telly, Human League, Eurythmics, etc on TOTP 🎶

A terrific example of a regional Art Gallery and Museum and why it is so important they are supported by government funding. A fascinating display of local history and palaeontology, along with an exhibition devoted to Dame Laura Knight. Highly recommended and delicious coffee...

Lovely little museum and gallery where you can spend an hour or two. Kids friendly. Daughter loved the little play area in the middle. Simple but educational and fun. Coffee was very good as well.

Nice space, kind staff, good coffee at the balcony cafe. Had fun in the children's activity room and enjoyed the exhibits (free), also paid £6 to see an art exhibition of Dame Laura Knight's paintings. Glad we found it, we'll be back!

Lovely art gallery and museum.

We happened to visit whilst they have a middle earth exhibition, which was great fun to see.

Free entry, friendly staff, great exhibitions, and an inexpensive cafe.

What more could you ask for.

The Dame Laura White expo was very interesting, as was the rest of the collections of the Worcester regiment.
The cafe was welcome after a couple of hours in the museum.

The Laura Knight exhibition was well worth visiting - a small but beautiful selection of work by this talented and versatile artist. Very friendly staff. Couldn't get the audio guide to work.

Upstars was the Titanic display, it had original artifacts donated by families of thoes who lost their lives, in addition to some items from the film.
There even had a short presentation showing how some rare unseen movie film of the Titanic was discovered including the footage.
It was awe inspiring it is free but I would recommend that a donation would not be unfair.

Highly recommended

Excellent museum and art gallery with a wide range of displays. Not enormous but plenty big enough for an hour or two soaking up the history. And it has a small cafe and shop so you can have a rest too.

Small place in a beautiful building. Very interesting and informative exhibitions. Especially about the local area. Seating through out the exhibitions. Didn't try out the cafe but it was busy so should be a good sign.

Set aside a good part of the day to look at this place. Start with coffee and cake, then look at all the wonderful exhibits. Now have lunch! Was so sorry the Gallery was closed for a new exhibition to be hung, shame as I would have enjoyed seeing it. The food is delicious and very well priced. Further to another review, yes, you can park in the Coral Bingo hall carpark, but there is NO machine to pay and you have to have the payjockey app on your phone or access to the internet to pay, was a nightmare! Would advise parking elsewhere. I did stand in the snow and did download the app but it didn't work! Rang my son and he did it via the internet. Definitely worth a visit to this great museum.

We travelled to Worcester City museum especially to see the Canaletto exhibition and it was entirely worth the trip. The museum is not large but is varied, well curated and fascinating. But the portrait gallery and the Canaletto exhibition are wonderful. The information provided with each picture gives insight "with a twist" as it highlights the impact Canaletto, and his art, had on English culture and society. We had a thoroughly wonderful afternoon and the relaxed, friendly staff were the icing on the cake...and speaking of cake the cafe is lovely too. Small, simple and welcoming. Only a small menu but it's always better to do a few things to perfection 😁...curried parsnip soup! a revelation! Also I must mention the complete disabled access, marvellous. Thankyou Worcester City museum.

Enjoyed my visit to the Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum. Some art, some local history, some local culture, and lots of local military history.
Current art exhibit Hokusai’s Great Wave is a well curated collection of Japanese art over time.
Interesting historical collection about Worcester, too.

I love this place - it is pretty small, so if you have younger children it's a great introduction to the museum / gallery experience. I love the mix of history and art; there always seems to be something new to look at. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and there is always some level of interaction available with different exhibitions. I actually find it a pretty inspirational place to visit - I always leave wanting to attempt something artistic.
