We were in the local area and Googled restaurant/food. The Peacock Oxhill was first on the list and was 1.3 miles from where we were. We arrived to a very warm welcome. We were shown the menu with an array of superb meals on offer and ordered our meals immediately. The food was exceptional and so was the service. The meals were very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit. We said we would return and well worth the 2 hour journey from home. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Credit to the chef too. Keep up the good work.

Really impressed with this place, the menu is quite small but the food was outstanding. What blew me away evan more was the price. 3 corses for 2 people & 2 drinks each for £52. Bargain!

A fantastic find! We were walking the dog and came here for some lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The servers were brilliant and the food was delicious. I had a Tuna burger (the picture doesn't do it justice!). A seared Tuna steak with wasabi mayo and crunchy vegetables. It was beautifully cooked and very tasty! I also liked the beers they had on tap - some interesting selections as well as the standards you'd expect. We sat by the fire which was lit and welcome with the cold weather outside. It's a lovely atmosphere for an afternoon in the countryside. I'm very glad we stumbled across this place and I will definitely endeavour to come again.

Beautiful little country pub run by welcoming staff. Really decent food. Cost ain’t too bad.
Hopefully you’ll see THE COOPERS perform there soon

For a small village this is a well attended pub. The staff are lovely and easy to talk to. The beer is well kept and a good variety of real ales amongst others.

Booked the Xmas festive menu for 13 people. It’s my local, but I have to say…..wow! Sophie, and the team on the night were just so attentive, courteous and professional. The food was really well presented, hot and tasty. Given that some had starters, some didn’t, likewise with desserts, the courses were served in a very timely way. So well organised despite the mayhem of everyone having a really good time. Great pub, great food, great atmosphere, great team of staff, great village. Nothing else to say really.

Old world, incredibly friendly pub that serves really good food at reasonable prices. We were part of a reasonably sized party and the service and friendliness of the staff was outstanding. Top marks, great place to both drink and eat

Proper pub.
Lovely real ale.
Small menu but real food by a chef not that chain cooked food in High Street pubs.
Main fact we will return

Without a doubt the best pub currently in the area. Good always delicious, love that there’s lots of veggie and vegan options and always some “off-menu” options too! Atmosphere brilliant, friendly and personable staff and bar manager is fantastic! What is not to love.

Excellent food whenever we go and lovely cosy atmosphere, with a fireside in the winter. Staff are first rate, chipper and friendly. I have to say the steak pie is one of the tastiest I've ever eaten, excellent crust and pastry and divine filling. They do a mean fish and chips too. Vegetarians are also very well served with a range of dishes to suit all on the menu. The beers are well kept, but there could be a more interesting selection. A great place to hang out with the family!

We only stopped for a drink, but had the best ever Butty Bach (my favourite beer). Beats that at both Bitter and Twisted and The Lion. It’s a beautiful, old fashioned country pub. There’s a small grassed rear garden with benches and limited seating at the front, where the view is beautiful. It was busy in the evening, and it’s understandably popular. Having seen the excellent menu, we will certainly be back. Be careful in the car park if you have low clearance.

Seventeen of us had an absolutely wonderful Sunday lunch here on the Coronation weekend. The food was fantastic - in fact, I think it was the best roast lunch I've ever had in a pub (and I've had quite a few). Staff were amazing too, and the pub interior is lovely and atmospheric. Highly recommended.

This place is amazing! The food is elevated pub food with special menu items and events that give it an international flair. Chef Jess and her team are very talented. Do yourself a favor and go here if you are in the area!
