Alberts Cafe & Tea Room

A warm welcome awaits you & your well behaved dog (if you have one). Service is quick and friendly & the food is tasty (we had two breakfasts). There are veggie options available, including a breakfast and also gluten free bread available plus a gluten free brownie. The cafe is not immediately obvious when you walk in the building, but walk through to the back and through a pair of curtains (keeps the heat in) & you'll find it. You might get distracted on the way by the many vintage items on offer, including vinyl. There is a hardstanding car park outside & a toilet is available up a single step.
Would definitely recommend it for a breakfast, lunch or cake stop!

I’m not sure when but I believe this cafe is under new management as of maybe last year, but I’m not sure? Anyhow if you haven’t visited this place in a while, or since the new lady has taken over, then you really should give it another go. This cafe is great. There’s a good menu (which also caters for veggies) and it’s nicely situated through the cool antiques shop. The lady who works in the cafe is brilliant and seems unflappable despite the high volume of customers at times. Always warm and welcoming and her breakfasts are on point. The prices are very reasonable as well. Also, the veggie sausage rolls are ‘peng’!!! Keep up the good work Alberts!!!!!

Amazing full English, at a great price! Less than £10 for full English and coffee. Will definitely be back again.

Had the best afternoon tea party with my lovely girlfriends. Jen and the whole Alberts team made us so welcome and it was a very special afternoon for all.

Delicious homemade scones. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. Lovely garden area to eat outside when the weather is warm

Lovely lunch today (tuna melt and cream tea) before matinée at the theatre. Will return when I'm next in the area; lots of other things I'd like to try.

Hot tea, ordered poached egg on toast (GF bread) with bacon (not on the menu) no problems, arrived just as I wanted. And with extra bread because the GF was smaller than their usual bread. Fab food, brilliant service

Why not combine a lovely day with antique hunting and the Smashing lunch. Is this sort of days right up your street and you must visit Albert. 2 floors of abundance antiques. Homemade soup with very tasty and the fish finger sandwich was out of this world.

Friendly staff ,went to have a look at the antique, sore some biswick, a lot more to look at, beds and carpets there as well, will go back.

Wonderful tea room inside an equally wonderful antique/collectible/curio shop. Full English breakfast, BLT’s, soups, omelettes etc. Shop contains two floors packed with vintage clothing, figurines, glass & collectibles of every kind

Having returned to Alberts Cafe, after a long time, due to poor quality food under the old management!
We have today experienced excellent hot food and warm friendly staff. Well done to the new management who have turned things around.
We will be back!

We had a lovety Christmas dinner here on Saturday. The full works. Beautifully cooked and delicious. Staff very accommodating, friendly and cheerful as always. Had some fun with the raffle, which raised a good amount for the Air Ambulance.

Found the cafe while looking for a stop on our bike ride .I will definitely be using this cafe on future rides

Fair choice of menu, very tasty food, friendly service, spotlessly clean and reasonable prices too.
